Next Best Thing

Morning

Temps have been hovering between 104°F and 107°F.

While my preference would be a nude beach...

one where there would be a food / drink truck, or store available,

I must settle for the next best thing.

You want to go to a naked beach? Well I am shocked. I grabbed my Pearl necklace on in shock if I had one on one.

But at least you have a pool!

Wanna swap?
I'm on the coast of Sydney, Australia and it's currently 11C (51F) but with wind and rain feels like 7C (44F)

I miss the pool I had in the backyard in St. Pete back in the day. I'd come home from work and find trail of clothes from the gate to the ladder as assorted friends (with benefits!) would venture in for a soak, among other things. Nary a tan line in sight!

As I often mention, nary a tan line in sight today, either... but more like nary a tan...

Only in USA that the metric system isn't in use. In Canada it's in use for decades and we became accostumise to it and find it easier to manage than that old english system. We know when they're forcasting a hot 35°C outside with a 45°C humidity that the day will be very hot and being inside with an air conditionning system is what you have to do.

I have to agree with the Fahrenheit meme.

'It is 41 degrees' is a nightmarish exclamation. Everything over 39 degrees Celcius is considered horrible. And a lot of people (me) think that everything over 28 is ridiculously hot. I must say that I live in a cool country and 40.7 degrees was the hottest temperature ever recorded (in 2019). People still talk how horrible it was (as our houses are built to retain the heat).

Hahaha
Oh, you should be around TAs from all over the world trying to understand the whole 'oh, it's twenty below' thing. Especially when zero F is already -17 C.

XOXO

Didn’t we come from the water? No wonder it looks like so much fun. Hugs and bisous.

Stay cool!

I understand...one cannot clutch the pearl necklace when it's gauche to be wearing one during the week. 😉

whkattk 说...

Oh... Oy, no thanks. I love my hot temps!

whkattk 说...

That's a shame....the no tans part, I mean.

whkattk 说...

Yes, we tried it for a while and gave up. I admit, I never could make it make sense, even though it's based entirely on 10. I think.

whkattk 说...

It does sound horrible, doesn't it?

whkattk 说...

Wow.... But there are HVAC systems, yes?

whkattk 说...

Yep. The cold is the exact opposite with C, isn't it?
XOXO

whkattk 说...

I believe we did....maybe that's why I'm so drawn to it.
Hugs and bisous.

Dips in the pool help!

The problem with the Celsius scale is that there are too few gradations over the range of temperatures that humans live and feel comfortable in. It’s easier to use for scientific purposes, but for everyday living (figuring how to dress, for example) it is too gross a scale compared to Fahrenheit.

Air conditioners are a rarity. We only have a few hot days a year, so it is not necessary.
