The city went into lock-down last April and by May they called my wife back as "essential." Only days off since then were for my eye surgery last June. Weekends and holidays she worked from home. (There's no such thing as a holiday in the gaming industry. Well, not for employees.) It appears they are going to allow her to take a week off - provided she takes her laptop with her in case they need her to do something.
So, we're trying to plan a road trip toward the end of the month.
Just to get the hell out of town.
Something to look forward to.
If we make it to a beach, so much the better. The most soothing sounds (to me) are rain - and surf.
Maybe I'll get both, since we're hoping to go to the Pacific Northwest.
I've never seen that part of the country.

More power to her. She must be burnt out. So many places shorthanded...its almost impossible for the few workers in places to take off....yet so many and many without jobs. Makes no sense.

I am planning on visiting Madison WI at the end of the month. A long weekend. I don't know, though. Infection rates are skyrocketing. It's like we're back at the beginning. My work just issued that if you're in the office - vaccinated or not - you must wear a mask. So, I won't be going in anytime soon. Supposed to return Sept. 6th, but I don't think that is going to happen unless things improve quickly. Have a lovely road trip.
