Poppers

A Reader is looking for help with "poppers." Poppers are small bottles of Amyl Nitrate, the fumes of which cause a temporary high.
"I would like to try poppers, but I have nowhere close to buy from. Do you have a brand you recommend and a website to buy them from? Also, is there anything I should know before using them?"

Lot's of people, guys mostly I guess, enjoy using this substance during sex because - for them - it heightens the pleasure of sex and orgasm.

I tried it once and didn't quite like it. Yes, it caused a (very) temporary feeling of being high. And that's precisely why I didn't like it. So, Poppers aren't for everyone, but for those who wish to imbibe and can't find it locally there are purchase sources online. Though Rush is by far the most popular, like weed, not all poppers are alike.

Resources are available for online purchase, and to help guide decision-making process on which to buy for what activity you wish to engage [in].

The following two blogs may be of help

As with any substance, folks should be aware there can be negative side effects.
If anyone has experience with poppers and can lead the Reader, he would greatly appreciate the info.

A long time ago a friend of mine made another friend absorb poppers. It had such an effect on him that he found himself with a lacerated and bloody face by lovingly and languidly rubbing his cheek against a cactus that was on the table.
Do I have to say that after that it never tempted me?
Hugs and bisous my darlings Jean and Pat.

I have a bottle of «Rush» poppers and I don't use it often.
To me too, the effect wasn't that good and no real increase in sexual matters.

I read somewhere that using poppers was more to ease the bottom to get fucked by relaxing him and his hole.

To me, it could be dangerous to inhale it because that substance is the same used to tan the leather so very unsafe.

A bit of advice from a medical professional... Do your research and consider if it is safe for use based on your medical status. There are risks to your vision related to the increased pressure in the eye during use, they should not ever be used with any type of medication that is used to treat erectile dysfunction- Viagra, Cialis, etc... The rapid dilation of the vascular system can cause a rapid drop in blood pressure. Cardiac and respiratory chronic conditions can also be complicated with the use of this product. A common side effect for some men is the loss of erection. Not to sound like a prude, as I use them occasionally. Just do your research and use in moderation if your health status dictates.

I can't recommend a certain brand, but in the pass have used them for time to time. They work so quick on my cock, I have never seen anything like it. It tends to get extremely hard too.

I can't imagine trying something like this or one of these. I'd have a chat with an ER doctor first.

No virus in my state yet, probably have it here, just not discovered in a test yet.
Hugs and Bisous.

I tried poppers once and that was enough.
I did not get the 'high' they were touting. All I got was a headache and the feeling that my head was full of cotton. Yeah, very sexy.
Maybe I did it wrong (well, I inhaled) but it did nothing for me. I've seen in porn, especially when the top is super hung, it's often present (TimTales, anyone?) but I have no idea what is that they're doing that I did wrong.
So it's a no from me.

XOXO

My BF used poppers to teach me how to get fucked (in lieu of good technique) 45 years ago and we got addicted to the rush, eventually interfering with other natural sensations and pleasures. Took months to get clean. Never again! Also, since they are unregulated, studies have shown the presence sometimes of substances you really don't want in your body. I know that loads of men use them especially for bating, but they are a really bad idea!

It's a HELL NO from me. No need for something like that. Find a person you actually really like and even better, are in love with and, you won't need any drugs or whatever.

AJ/Dallas is 100% correct. Always make sure that you know the potential interaction with any meds you may be taking. If you have low blood pressure these could cause issues. My partner and I have used poppers for many, many years with no issues. You must source your poppers from a reliable vendor as there are many rogue copies from china with unknown contents. Sniff only with your head vertical and don't over do the use as you may end up with a headache the next morning. If you're sniffing all night, you will have a problem, always in moderation. As shown by the comments, some guys get harder and others get soft. No two individuals will react the same way.
Look for poppers that state they have been charcoal filtered, if possible. Cap the bottle as soon as possible and store in the freezer. When the poppers smell stale or odd, toss it.
I would also suggest you buy from a brick and mortar store that carries poppers, ie, and gay related items. Those stores are less likely to sell fake brands and you can always ask the sales person which brand sells best or if they can personally recommend a brand.
In the gay old days, lol, they actually sold real amyl nitrate and it is completely different from the poppers mixed today.
There is a new brand out, called,"Double Scorpio" developed by a gay couple that is superior to any I have tried and it has virtually no bad or offensive smell. They too, were put off by the brands currently offered so they developed their formula and went into business.
And no, I am not affiliated in any way with that entity but I do use there products and I like it.
Anyway, some folks like the effects of poppers and others do not, so it is up to the individual to decide.

Personally, i attribute my memory problems to the frequent use of poppers in my 20s and 30s. I believe they are adding to what is a normal product of aging by making it more pronounced.
