Answer to geometry puzzle: 75 degrees. Assuming the upper and lower lines are parallel, if you extend the line coming from 50 degrees until it intersects the upper line, it also intersects at 50 degrees, making a triangle with angles 25, 50 and 105 degrees (since the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees). The 105 degree angle is next to angle a, and the two of them add to 180 degrees, so a must be 75 degrees.

I constructed a 3rd parallel line through the the point at A. Then the 50 and 25 degree angles (by some parallel line rule) are replicated. 25 + 50 = 75
