I think, because I am versatile, I never think in those terms. I know there are a lot of dominance fantasies when it comes to interracial sex, but I have always thought of them as an extension of white male guilt when it comes to black males' experience as members of this country that was founded on the back of black kidnapped slaves. It may also have to do with fear reversal... either as a means of coping with a fear of black males or as a means of appeasing black males - due to an assigned superiority. Just thoughts. Yeah. I think about this stuff. Objectification is a very odd animal. On the one hand it is rather flattering, but on the other... rather insulting.

I can't answer Fabricio's question for I've been with only one black man - too bad considering I enjoy men of color. Still that relation goes against the "always top" as well the "always hung" as he was both the contrary. Really charming and easy going, though too possessive of me, but definitely a bottom and below average.
People tend to make a generality and therefore a stereotype from just a sample of examples that impressed them. During the 18th and 19th centuries black people's nudity was obviously exposed, either as slaves or as people shipped to Europe from British/French/German colonies to be shown for the "civilized'" edification. Anyway some physical traits have impressed western people's mind, the size of some black men being one. Hence what became the stereotype, I think.
As for black men seen as always being top, in my opinion it comes from the American porn industry's vision, like you mentioned Paul. Possibly a kink for gay whites: bottoming for black men who back in these days were still struggling for their civil in the U.S. rights may have felt like fighting against the Puritan strictness of the American society, and a turn on?
