Never Forget

Today marks 78th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The attack caused the U.S. to be fully embroiled in WWII beyond supplying funds and weapons to our European allies.

When you see a veteran or current military person, give a sincere thanks for their service.

The acceptable version of that is:
"Never forget."

My dad was just a lad and this happened on his birthday - Happy Birthday, son! Pearl Harbor has just been bombed. I got to visit the Arizona when I went out there a few years back. Very moving.

I wish you and yours a very lovely weekend, my Friend. Hugs, Licks and Strokes, AOM

Is the one with the homer authentic? I just have difficulty believing the photographer caught a guy shirtcocking with a homer and just had to snap a photo AND could get it published.

@ Anon - The policy in those days was "as long as there is no penetration." So, I think it's real.

Good post. I wish I had thought of it.

I really appreciate your post to remember those who serve our country. They deserve our honor and thanks.

@ Anon - the other thought that struck me - - many times photographers who did erotic (porn) work often had their own darkrooms and developed the film and made prints.

Why is it the guys in those B&W 1940's photos always seem to have a full dark bush thicker than the ones we see today ??? I love those pics

@ Anon - Trimming wasn't even considered in those years. Men didn't think about that kind of grooming. Today, men spend almost as much thought and time in looking their best as women.

Military guys discovered shaving the pubes during Vietnam because it made it easier to remove critters (like leeches). Now, as shaving and trimming have become more popular, there has been an (almost) complete eradication of crab lice.

It was also a style in the aughts ("Boys, your sons will remember what you do here. Because they'll continue your work.") but more because of porn. There aren't a lot of leeches in the desert, and there aren't a lot of hookers in Iraq.

I do remember one lady getting mad at Blackwater guys for sunbathing naked. As opposed to higher salaries, getting away with anything, and don't expect the local yokels to know the difference between the US military and mercenaries hired to circumvent the Geneva Conventions. And your family had to buy your body armor, because apparently Squeenix wrote Rummy's military doctrine. That's all far worse.
