May is National Masturbation Month. An annual celebration of self-pleasure, begun when Joycelyn Elders was fired in the 90s due to an overheard private conversation at a university wherein she suggested that, "perhaps, masturbation is something which should be taught."
Over the course of the month, people are encouraged to not only indulge but be open and honest about indulging. This is a way to promote the fact that this singularly most common sexual activity is Healthy and Normal.
Personally, I would think that college-age people should be old enough to handle a subject such as this. Evidently, the Religious Right had enough power in Congress to suggest otherwise and President Bill Clinton was forced to remove her from her Cabinet position.
So, join the celebration. Be open and honest about enjoying yourself.

Eh, I think Clinton needed an excuse for future compromises. He was a Libertarian mole at the end of the day. (Then again, Libertarians want to abolish age of consent, so they manage to accomplish several goals at once 29th l'Affaire Elders.)
That said, guys at least either figure it out or learn from a friend, brother, or cousin. All the adults need to do is reassure them it's normal. And reassure them that it's normal to do it both alone and with friends, privately.
Girls...girls don't organize the equivalent of circle jerks. But they also are much more likely to present symptoms of sexually abused, which instruction sounds like.
