Where's the Ball?

Longtime Faithful Reader, Amanda, asked about un-descended testicles and if there is a way for a guy to check them.
That there is a tricky subject. Our balls have typically lowered into the nutsac by the time we're born. Sometimes, as happened with one of my military buds, one (or both) may not drop into place. The OB/GYN checks (or should check) for them, just as he inspects the penis.
Some pediatricians will recommend surgery at an early age, others choose the "wait and see" method of dealing with the issue. And, sometimes, a nut left of up the abdominal cavity will shrivel and die and not cause problems. And, sometimes, it can cause all types of issues. Including cancer; the risk rises significantly for undescended balls.
Now, can you check one (or both) nuts which might be hiding? Sure. If you've established a firm baseline on shape, size, and tenderness. I'd strongly urge that a baseline has been established by a Urologist.
Thereafter, as long as you don't experience any unusual pain in the area, do that monthly ball check by pressing in and around it. Don't push too hard, though. You just want to know if it's grown, shrunk, moved, or gotten tender. Any of those signs and I suggest you hightail it to your doctor.

Beyond that, every few years I'd also suggest medical testing (CT, PET, or similar means) to ensure cancer, which may not have grown to cause discomfort or pain or even totally painless, hasn't decided to invade. As always, the sooner it's discovered, the better the prognosis.

Thank you all for your kind words for my wife. My B-I-L was a racist, prejudiced bigot of the highest degree; not speaking ill of the dead, just the truth. Yet, this was her brother and she none-the-less mourns his death. I understand that and support her, and do my best to ease her grief. As so many of you stated in your comments, it makes one take stock of ones life. Have an enjoyable weekend, folks. Enjoy yourselves. If there is something you've been wanting to try - go do it.

The racists are ignoramuses. There is only a single human race, this is evidenced by that a white can reproduce with a black (a cat cannot reproduce with a dog), and their skin difference does not mean more than to have blond or red hairs.
A lot of the racists are also intolerant at gays.
The churches which preach for the brotherhood (limited to their members) are shamefully accommodating with the racists.
The Roman Catholic Church even justified the slavery by the difference of color while today it has black high dignitaries.

I think that the photo N°1 is dedicated to him?

I wish you a wondrous weekend, my dear Pat, with a lot of bisous, and I'll try to not forget the 15th of the month.

(but why not replace it by the closest day to the 15th, on Monday for Sunday and Friday for Saturday. After all, the 15th has nothing special, even not the fact to be the middle of the month when it has 28, 29 or 31 days)

Thank you very very much for talking about undescended testicles. It's about what I expected (though I am happy some self-checking can certainly be done). I did not know that undescended testicles have a higher risk for cancer though. Something to definitely keep in mind.

I'm not a big proponent of "watchful waiting". Granted, it was the mid 60's, but this conservative approach cost my BF one of his testicles @ age 15. Since Dr no longer = God in our enlightened world, my advice is that if you aren't completely comfortable with the first prognosis, seek another.

Dear Pat, and I thought you were going to be like that Mary Tyler Moore episode of The funeral of Chuckles the clown ( I think an elephant sat on him) when she got the giggles, and everyone around her was horrified.

Such cab be the in-laws, we all have them.

@ artistJ - Aloha, bro! Always good to have you stop by - whether you're Freeballin' or not.

@ Jean - Imagine if Marie Antoinette had said "Let the eat pie!" LOL. We had celebrations of Pi Day here with a pie fight in the park.

@ MFP - Yes, mon ami, it was totally dedicated to him - a stab in the eye.

Yet, if I moved the Ball Check notice to an adjacent day, then would it necessarily be consistent? Would I still be keeping my word that the 15th of each month would be Buddy Ball Check Day?

Bisous!
