Which Hand?

Are you a lefty or a righty? The first job I ever had, the boss-man asked me that upon announcing he was raising my salary, "Which hand do you jack off with? I'm a lefty."

I laughed. It wasn't much of a secret that, at some point during my shift, I'd be in a stall stroking away. But, the old question pops up in surveys and articles now because sexologists now want to know if we use our dominant or non-dominant hand.

The most interesting is that right-handed people - especially young people - are using the left hand. The obvious simple reasoning, according to the new MEL Magazine article by Brian Van Hooker, is the dominant (right) hand is on the mouse or keyboard.

Otherwise, the reasons guys use the opposite hand run the gamut from "it helps me last longer" to "it feels like someone else is doing it for me."

One, Van Hooker says, "threw me for a loop." AskMen claims that masturbating with your non-dominant hand may be a way to mitigate the effects of a porn addiction, including erectile dysfunction. The idea here is that by limiting the compulsivity of the action by touching yourself with your other hand, it may make you less numb to the experience of being touched, not only during masturbation, but during intercourse as well."

The most ridiculous (IMO) is, according to Alexandra Katehakis of the Center for Healthy Sex, it has to do with how your dick is shaped. “Anatomy is different for everybody, and some people’s penis may skew to the left or right. So, depending on that, [the preferred hand] may be related to what is the most comfortable way to move your hand up and down the shaft,” she says."

I don't think it has to do with comfort, but sensation along the shaft - and particularly the cockhead.

Whatever reason you have, it doesn't really matter which hand you use

as long as you are enjoying the activity.
