"Hello! I'm a long time reader of your blog and I want to thank you for trying to normalize a lot of issues that are often uneasy for straight as well as gay men. I also wanted to share an experience with you that happened to me last week.
I was prescribed a new ED medication, Trimix, by my urologist and wanted to take it for a test spin. I prepared the injection and in a matter of what seemed like 30 seconds.....WHAM! I got the biggest boner I've probably ever had since I was a teen. The problem as time went on was that my little (or big!) guy wasn't going down and soon pleasure turned into an annoying pressure that lasted for about 7 hours. I went to the ER where they took a look and basically had to aspirate my dick and drain the excess blood from it.
So, boys beware if you are on any ED meds and be sure to check and double check the dosage. Having a boner that lasts for hours sounds good but it's more of a pain than anything. Also the medical issues that could accompany the said problem.

John's is a prime example of what can happen with some of these ED meds. Normally, cocks get a slight respite, if you will, by lowering the hardness a bit during sexual arousal. The hardness will decrease slightly, then rebound, over and over. The ED meds can interfere with that natural ebb and flow resulting in a constant, solid boner. It can get painful if it lasts too long.
Trimix is a new prescription injection-erection drug. It's like a generic CaverJect. All these different meds help a lot of different men. But, had his doctor warned him, perhaps he could've been prepared.
When this happened to me, a call to the doctor's office told me to take a double dose of Benadryl with the caveat that, if the erection didn't begin to subside within 30 minutes, then hightail it to an emergency room. The Benadryl worked and I avoided the trip to the ER.
Any time you try a new pharmaceutical always ask the pharmacist (rather than the doctor) what the side effects might be and what to do in case you experience any.

Priapism refers to a prolonged erection lasting more than 4 hours, sometimes painful. This disease corresponds to blocked blood in both cavernous bodies, the main erectile organs of the penis. To take a medicine because we want to experience the effects of a disease, that takes the cake.

Another good reason not to get these meds from India, etc. you need a doctor here to call and an emergency room to go to.
In other countries people don’t think twice about having a doctor and getting prescription meds. Here in the US it’s a different story. People buy drugs from other countries to circumvent going to a doctor to get a prescription. We don’t have universal healthcare here.

And erection injection... hmmm... I don't know if I could get there?
Is it something that, if prescribed, would be self administered like an Epi-pen? Where do you inject it? In this day and age of HIV and other STD's, if you inject yourself on your penis, would that not leave an open wound, no matter how small, that could be an egress for an infection? I know when I go to get blood work drawn or routine shots, they always cover the spot with a cotton ball and surgical tape. When I remove it a few hours later, there is always a drop of blood, and for the next hour, can see the IV or injection spot.
It's a fascinating option, but I would have to really think of the timing. It's like, do I just hang out with an erection watching "60 Minutes" until the coast is clear?

@ Rad - good question! I would assume there would be a risk. Though, when the doctor did mine (into the base of the shaft) there was no blood at all. I didn't even think to ask about the risk of HIV due to the needle prick. When you self administer, yes, it is typically with an Epi-pen type of instrument.
@ Jean - Absolutely. We need to be cautious when we buy from other countries, just as we need to be cautious when we travel to other countries for medical treatments. They don't have the regulations we have. Then again, if Trump has his way he'll probably use executive order to do away with those, too. Ugh!
@ mistress - Oh, good lord, no! Had he never heard of a strap-on? I hope he did go to the ER! Where, I also hope, the doctors there read him the riot act.
