Congratulations to Brendan Fraser on his Critic's Choice Best Actor award for The Whale. Fraser has managed to emerge from the pain and darkness of a sexual assault. As he said through his tears last evening, if you are in a dark place like that, with the help of others you can get on your feet again.

@ Maddie - Fraser was passed over by the Golden Globes this year --- his first year back into films --- because he was assaulted backstage at the ceremony years ago. When he asked the then head honcho to do something, he was ridiculed and told to shut up. As you can imagine, the assault was bad enough, but then to be dismissed messed him up emotionally. I'm SO glad he's found his way back and managed to get back to work. He's a fantastic actor.

Brendan Fraser apparently has more balls than all of the HFPA put together. Good for him, his mother taught him right not to accept a Golden Globe.. "My mother didn’t raise a hypocrite."

@ Jean - Fraser's mom was a smart woman. When the noms were announced, he stated he would not attend and, if named for an award, he would not accept. That's integrity. Yep, there're a whole lot of congresspersons who could learn from him. I wouldn't want to name names coughkenvinmccarthycough 😁 Hugs and bisous
