"My kid had a serious wet dream that woke him up. I took that as my sign it was time for another talk. I handed him a cucumber and used it to show him how to stroke his dick. My wife threw a fit. I said it was better than the real thing. Whose right?"
In a word? You. For many obvious reasons. But I hope you then took the opportunity to tell him it's good for him, gave him something to use for lube and a stack of towels for clean up.
"Dad made all the guys piss outside in order to do more to save on water. Even visitors. Every little bit helps right? Living in an apartment to condo conversion because it's all I could afford has put a real damper on that and the old "if it's yellow let it mellow" is kind of disgusting to me. Suggestions?"
'Course, the Gatorade bottle (or an equivalent) is the cheapest route. But be careful where you leave it. You really wouldn't want a guest to mistake it for the drink.

I'm glad the dad took the initiative that he did.
a well done use of and for a cucumber!!!
piss: that dad loks me a bit exagerated
Well I guess the cucumbers is a good trick. A friend of mine who's straight and has a son, just let him view jack off porns, so he will actually know what it looks like.
We go off the back until it is too cold. (Christmas Eve -7 with a wind chill factor of -32). We wore pajamas and peed inside.
Glad there are fathers out there to give the talk to their boys. When I first came, I thought I broke it. Was back to it the next day.
Lol at that last bit 😜
@ Maddie - I think that's a great idea. It's one I know I've suggested in the past.
@ Hot Guys - Thanks. I thought it would be nice to add a little humor!!
My Dad "caught me" jerking off a number of times. Not only did he tell me it was okay, but he actually showed me different strokes, rhythms, and grips. He had no shame, thank goodness. He'd show me a grip/stroke, then allow me to use it on him to make sure I got it right.
For the life of me I can't figure out why the Mom didn't go for the cucumber idea, I thought that was pretty clever and got the father involved in the instruction. win/win. Hugs and bisous.
A symbol is never as good as the real thing. It's unfortunate that we might be prepared to show a youngster a video of jacking off as an educational tool, but a Dad modeling that activity for his son as education is a no-no, even though they will both be doing it soon enough regardless and modeling anything creates a better shared bond and sense of identity betweeen Dad and son.
I had this image after reading the article of the boy raiding the fridge for cucumbers to practice on and being frustrated he didn't cum, but his Mother hitting the roof.
What was the wife so upset about: the Dad not modeling penile stimulation himself, encouraging the boy to masturbate, or using one of her cucumbers as a symbol? Why did she even need to know about the Dad educating his son about being a man?
Quite frankly, Dads should be teaching their sons about masturbation before they have the ability to ejaculate as they should be able to experience multiple orgasms, which according to some articles, better prepares a man to achieve multiple orgasms in adult life. By leaving it up to chance discovery, most boys only ever achieve single orgasm/cum combinations and not multiple consecutive orgasms, so Dads are denying boys a pleasure opportunity window that closes soon enough when boys start to ejaculate.
Is it subconscious envy of the potential for multiple orgasms in boys that results in them being denied knowledge and thus opportunity?
Obviously the boy in the post has not been experimenting with orgasmic stimulation, because he never knew it was possible and has thus been denied a potential, but at least he now knows about masturbation and that it is good.
As for saving water, urine doesn't smell if left for relatively short periods of time, so can be allowed to accumulate in a toilet bowl during the day and then using a short flush. The longer it can be allowed to accumulate, the less water used for the inevitable flushes. Every bit helps, even if it isn't the most you could do.
Regarding peeing and saving water, it's not a good idea to "if it's yellow, let it mellow" for long because your pee could be acidic and will slowly destroy the porcelain.
I think the Dad did great. I think its sad that we have so many men who take advantage of kids these days. In a perfect world, a dad should be able to show a boy how to do this without it being wrong. However, I know that there are those out there who would do something they shouldn't or take it too far or do something that wasn't wanted by the son.
@ Utah Jock - I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
@ Gay Dad - I'd have to agree 100%. I think Big Dude hit the jackpot with his dad.
Big Dude definitely hit the jack pot. Sadly, my dad didn't explain anything to me, and without brothers or cousins, etc, I had to figure it out alone. Eventually I got it right, but not without some mishaps along the way! I agree with Gay Dad as well, but I think most young men would benefit from significant talk about dick mechanics and how to do things properly.
@ Gay Dad - I wonder if some of those men who take advantage of kids do so because they didn't have a Dad who cared to educate his son for the sons benefit and knew where to draw the line between imposing what the Dad may have wanted versus responding to the sons needs. In effect modelling appropriate behaviour. If a son was frustrated in his own development, that might get reflected in the adult son imposing what he wanted on a younger man.
It's sad that a Dad is not allowed to show a boy how to do this without it being wrong, because I think it puts fear above the proper education of a male, which ultimately causes more damage. It's not asking for a perfect world to have a Dad educate his son about being male, but ensuring men know the difference between doing something for the benefit of the son versus doing it only for the benefit of the Dad, which then gets passed onto the son too through appropriate modelling. I think it is the absence of appropriate modelling that causes the most damage because it gets propagated through the generations.
When a boy has a wet dream and thinks he has broken something because he didn't receive education in advance over natural bodily development, I think that is damaging: it creates an unnecessary trauma.
Prevention rather than cure, through appropriate education including modelling. It's why porn has become a problem, because the natural male curiosity about sex is not satisfied through education, so they turn to porn (which is not a good educator).
An interesting deliberation is that how does a son know what they want when they don't know what their body is capable of and what is normal biological process? Boys can experience multiple orgasms before being able to ejaculate (but only beforehand), but if no-one shows them what is possible in a timely fashion, they miss out at that point and potentially miss out on multiple orgasms in adulthood: they rely on chance discovery. How can they want something they don't know exists? I think this is where a Dad modelling what is possible for a man, as a future potential development of a boy, is so useful, not a Dad doing something to a boy for his own gratification.
I think society needs to discuss this principle, not remain in fear of abuse and say nothing, guaranteeing it happens out of sight.
I mean, there are psychological (and of course legal) issues with showing him how on yourself.
@ Anon, January 6, 2023 at 5:49 AM - Absolutely, if handled (no pun intended) the wrong way.
I heard that if you urinate into a Mountain Dew or Light Beer bottle, the drinker will have a hard time telling that the contents ae not the brand name stuff.
