Do You Have

Good morning.

What an extraordinary read.
Also available in Audiobook - by the Diva herself.

With the cooler temps filtering in from the North, it's a perfect time to grab some hot cocoa,

Snuggle into your favorite robe

put on some music --- like listening to the corresponding album

as you read the chapter she talks about recording the songs and why she chose them, or why she put them in the order they appear.

Babs is my weakness. If she releases something, I will hightail it to the store.

Do you have any recording artist you follow like that?

Love La Streisand.
Funny story: I used to like her and all but I only had one or two of her records. One day, talking to the manfriend he said his mom and dad had totally sworn off Barbra cause she was 'too liberal'. I immediately started crate diving for her records. I currently have ten.
The only other artist I follow as closely is Madonna.

XOXO

Not so much with music any more.
My favourite joke from Armistead Maupins Tales of the City is about the guys in the S&M relationship - one liked Streisand and the other liked Middler 😉

I love Barbra but not enough to do what you do.

How interesting...I was watching Stephen Colbert's interview with Barbra from last night and visited your blog. I could write a book, not 992 pages though, about this remarkable woman who has been part of my life since 1965 and her first TV special on CBS. I was immediately attracted to her voice which in turn gave me a voice. If you listen to her work, you should notice that you clearly understand the lyrics, her diction and enunciation is unparalleled. Try finding that from any of today's artists, however talented they may be. She had an unorthodox approach to her beauty, the Hollywood standard that she rejected was unique. No studio would dare suggest a nose job or other facial "improvements". She gave people like me who weren't born with the drop-dead handsome good looks gene permission to accept themselves as they were. Barbra Streisand's talent and creativity was evident from the very start and she has been loved, hated by some and a prolific talent for 7 decades. I have all of the albums from her early years and all of the CDs after that. I am THAT fan, and when she sings, she sings just to me, I get her and I am truly indebted to her for the joy she has given to me and the world. I'm sure many of your readers feel the same.

Adore the lady. What a talent. I have a ton of divas whose music I collect... but I've chilled out a bit on buying CDs. Thanks for sharing this.

It is difficult to read the books of all these readers over their shoulders. It's selfishness.

Hugs and bisous, my darliings Jean and Pat.
Have a wondrous day.

Great minds. My copy arrived last week and I haven’t had a chance to even start. I think it weighs 10 pounds!
Hugs and bisous.

In the old days it was Les Paul and Mary Ford - they were incredibly innovative for their time- I have 78s 45s cds and a huge collection of their pics and magazine articles as well as records they each did solo after the divorce- plus a couple of early Gibson goldtops and Customs -

Not a huge fan of Streisand, but I don't hate her. I do like all the naked males, hard, soft, jacking off, blowing...keep 'em coming. They keep me cumming.

@ MFP - LOL. It is difficult, isn't it? We'll blame it on the photographers. Hugs and bisous.

@ Jean - It does weigh a lot. I had to put it on a pillow on my lap. But it was worth it. It's like you're having a conversation with her. Hugs and bisous.

Huge fan of Robert Rich, electronic space music composer. His CD's are perfect to accompany a massage or a mindful bate session. They provide a background that doesn't intrude and covers up distracting urban noise. I find them very beautiful too! https://robertrich.com

@ jsstrand - OMG! You have the guitars??? Wow. Now that's serious collecting. I managed to get a couple costume pieces because I had a friend working at the studio...but that's about the extent.
