Phuh-what?

The Phimotic Ring is visible near the end of the foreskin.
A Jewish friend of mine (may he rest in peace) used to joke “Jewish men are the bravest of all; they have part of their dicks cut off before they even know how much they’re going to get!” There’s always been such a heated debate over circumcision. I have always tried to stay out of the argument, but I’ve recently read posts of a few threads on various websites where some guys clearly do not understand that sometimes there is a medical need for a man getting cut. I’ve voted on polls and answered surveys asking about the matter: “Yes, I’m cut.” “No, I don’t miss it – how can one miss something one was never aware one had to begin with?”
However, there are some guys who must face the knife in the precise area where we men cringe if hearing penis and scalpel used in the same sentence! And who can blame them? We’re very protective of our man-parts, you know; they’re very near and dear to our hearts! I understand “docking” (whereby intact guys place the ends of their cocks together and slide the foreskins back and forth over both heads) can be an incredible feeling and who would want to give that up once it’s been discovered?
The Phimotic Ring is a tiny, thin contour of tough skin tissue which branches out from underneath the penis, and curves round over the front of the inner foreskin, like a noose around the glans. It can develop too tightly and prevent the foreskin from retracting in a condition known as Phimosis.

Phimosis
Pinhole Phimosis - more severe closure
Or, it can develop a condition called Paraphimosis wherein it will not slide back over the head and causes the shaft of your cock to look like a potato sack tied in the middle.
Paraphimosis
Neither condition may look or seem as if it may be painful, but just get a hard-on; now the trouble begins. In the case of Paraphimosis, besides constricting the urethra and inhibiting the flow of both urine and cum, the ring of tissue gets tighter and tighter over time and it feels as if someone is trying to rip your dick apart at the seam! The same sensation holds true for Phimosis in attempting to retract the foreskin. It can get so tight it becomes impossible to clean the head of your dick leading to infections and even more trouble.
Imagine being horny as hell, trying to jack off, or boinking your partner (male or female) and the skin, which should be sliding up and down over the head, doesn’t move at all; the only sensation a squeezing ring of pain. And frustration with a massive, steel hard cock and a case of blue balls you can’t relieve.
There are lots and lots of snake-oil remedies available through websites promising their (steroid-based) cream will enable the foreskin to be permanently stretched. Don’t believe them for a New York minute. All those creams will do is make the skin thin and result in easier tearing – and your dick will be ripping apart at the seam.
The only resolution for either of these conditions is circumcision – getting cut. But, take heart! There is such a thing as a Partial Circumcision. You’ll have to be patient in locating a urologic surgeon who is familiar with the procedure though. Oddly enough, your best bet is to find a Jewish urologist who has had plenty of practice!
So, whether your preference in male genital aesthetics is cut or uncut – I personally find the un-hooded head of a cock more pleasing to my eyes (but maybe that’s because I’m cut) – necessity may require you, or your partner, to get the foreskin reduced. Don’t look at it as some type of mutilation; think of it as preserving and/or restoring proper function to the manhood.
So your dick looks like this

Instead of this

So what? They're all gorgeous and fun to play with, don’t you think?

Hey, great info. I am circumcised so the uncut penis has always fascinated me. I have an uncircumcised friend and he has really helped me get my oral technique right for his penis. You really have to do oral differently for uncircumcised guys.

Some phimosis issues can be cured with regular stretching over a period of time to loosen the grip of the foreskin, Its worth a try to see before getting snipped.

In my opinion circumcision is the most vile thing you could do to your penis. I had to be circumcised as an adult and as a result was left with no sensation in my penis whatsoever. Can't believe parents do this to their kids. the foreskin is there for a purpose after all. Wish I'd kept mine, extra tight or otherwise!

Anon: Removal of the foreskin will not cause a total lack of sensation in the penis. If you have that problem, there's something else entirely going on there.
If it was me? I'd be hauling my dick to a urologist and asking for a referral to a Neurologist. You may have damaged the nerve bundles running along the perineum...Bif question to answer: Do you ride a bicycle or motorcycle? Did you fall and hurt the area?
Please believe me - your situation was NOT caused by circumcision.

Standard treatment these days is using steroid creams. You can also gently pull your foreskin back and forward. (Every guy here should be an expert at THAT!) Circumcision is, as a rule, a last resort. HTH
