Fluid Sexuality or "Flexuality"

Anonymous said...
Why can’t guys be fluid? Why do we have to label what we do with other guys as “straight” or “ gay” or even “bi?”
That's a great question. And I believe the upcoming generation is making that case - sometimes reaching a bit too far with it. Last week, two weeks ago, I can't remember, an argument ensued over a birth announcement. As in, "So-and-so gave birth to a baby boy..." and the controversy began to not force a label onto progeny. (Completely overlooking my issue with the sentence: I sure hope the woman didn't give birth to an adult boy! 😁)
Anyway.... Leaving the sexual orientation labels behind would be a great thing. The website Flexuality from 2012 addressed this issue so perfectly for those who wish to either have a way to label themselves, or to leave themselves "fluid;" they refuse labels which might describe sexual orientation - or even gender. It received a write-up in the New York Times (NYT) in May of 2017.

If you've never seen the website
or read the NYT article
both are worth the time.

Well, it IS supposed to be a continuum. What I can’t deal with is with the ‘I’m straight but lemme fuck ya’ strategy.

my brother and our buddies have been jacking off together for a long time now. there's no judgement between us at all whether we like girls or guys or both doesn't matter. we have no lables at all we don't say anyone is gay or straight. we're just enjoying our dicks is what it is for us. - R

@R - Son, I think the post refers to activities other than masturbation. - Dad

I wonder if there will be a pattern that there is a try everything period, and then as you mature you will go in the direction you’re most comfortable and stay there. Hugs and bisous, snow in Paris.

Hey Bro, Sorry I haven't been around much lately - this chest cold virus has gotten me out of my normal routine. I totally agree with no labels - sex is an expression of feelings and pleasure between people - there should be no labels - people should enjoy themselves with the people they enjoy. I wish you a bonerific day, my Friend. Hugs, Licks, and Strokes, AOM

To me there is gay and straight ...and then everyone falls somewhere between the two.

so true! not only are many people fluid (and therefore bisexual), but they change over time. So fluidity is also diachronic!

@ Jean - I think you're correct with that assessment.

@ Xersex - Yes! That is it.

@r - Doesn't shock or disappoint me. I'm proud of both of you! - Dad

Fluidity comes in degrees. Like, my sexual interests include men and women, but I'm all male. That's, what? Crystal? We'll go with crystal. And that's OK. Just as it's OK to be fluid in both, or crystal on both, or fluid in one and crystal on t'other. Frankly, there are so many shades of normal that the only forbidden fruit in this garden is that of nonconsent. And if you're in a relationship, cheating (i.e., having additional sexual partners without the knowledge and consent of your primary partner).

@Père et fils: son reminds me of when I was that age. Just masturbation and rubbing dicks, though. And a few other things.

Where I grew up, blowing a guy meant you were gay, bottoming meant you were what we now call nonbinary. Everything else, including getting a blowjob and screwing a guy, was just fun boys had. Common attitude for Indians and Mexicans. I swear, the number of times someone walked in on my friends and me after a circle jerk, I think my parents thought we were all stoned. Even though there was no weed smell.
