Here is the comment from a reader.
"I love that you remind us all November to get the boys checked out. I did and all is well. But as a suggestion, how about a series on the importance of a foreskin check so those of us who still have one? I had a friend whose foreskin was tight and neither he nor I knew anything about loosening it up, or about checking under it. Mine is loose enough to pull back and keep clean.
I know most of us are circumcised here in the US, so it’s not a big deal, but it’s still a “men’s health issue”." - Anonymous
Phimosis is a foreskin condition wherein it is too tight to retract from the head. The problem is caused by the Phimotic Ring, also called preputial sphincter, a band of tissue which helps the foreskin close over the head.

If this ring is too tight, it can cause hygiene problems. Men should peel the foreskin back and thoroughly wash the area to avoid the buildup of oils, urine, and pre-ejaculate. You need to regularly check under the hood. If these natural body fluids are left the resultant odors aren't pleasant. Infection may set in if left completely unattended. It can make urination difficult.
"Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back past the glans.[3] A balloon-like swelling under the foreskin may occur with urination.[3] In teenagers and adults, it may result in pain during an erection, but is otherwise not painful.[3] Those affected are at greater risk of inflammation of the glans, known as balanitis, and other complications.[3]" - Wikipedia
Newborns may have the condition naturally, though it typically resolves itself by age three. "Efforts to pull back the foreskin during the early years of a young male's life should not be attempted.[4] For those in whom the condition does not improve further time can be given or a steroid cream may be used to attempt to loosen the tight skin.[4] If this method, combined with stretching exercises, is not effective, then other treatments such as circumcision may be recommended.[4]" - Wikipedia
There is also a condition called paraphimosis where the ring gets trapped along the shaft. The same steroid cream and stretching may resolve the problem. In severe cases, circumcision may (again) be recommended.
If you have either of these conditions, you should make an appointment with a urologist to resolve it.
Love your cock and it will love you.

I'm so glad I'm circumcized, it's a lot less work!
Excellent post. Now Pat...here's one for you. The Lad and ai were at a jock strap party....very laid back and anything goes. There was just mingling and social aspect if that's what you wanted and all forms of sex. Some guy approached us about inserting metal rods in our penis hole. O have seen this in porn but the name escapes me. We passed as it looked painful and I've heard cather nightmares. Can this possiblely be good for the cock?
@ mistress - That is called "Sounding" and no, it is not good for the cock if you don't now what you're doing. Special care must be taken to not damage or tear the urethra (OW!). Glad to hear you ad the Lad passed on that.
OMG
Really I need to pay more attention to dicks. Really.
XOXO

I am cut, I found your post was very informative and interesting. As for sounding. Many years ago I had prostatitis that several rounds of antibiotics couldn’t touch. I went to a urologist a distance from where I lived that I knew that had treated my grandfather. He took me at the end of his day to give me time to travel, probably working me in at the last minute. He had his tech do x-rays. Then put me in a small room to wait. He came in and said that since several rounds of antibiotics hadn’t helped, he was going to apply an old remedy. He filled my penis with numbing gel. Then came back with metal rods with which he sounded me, although I didn’t know the term at the time. When it was all over he gave me a prescription for more antibiotics and told me for next several days to sit before I peed, otherwise I might pass out. And, boy, was he right. I had to rest on the pot even after I peed.
love last pic
@SickoRicko: Not a lot of work. We're generally talking about tiny minorities. It just happens most fathers don't like talking about retraction, due to its similarity to masturbation.
Thank you for your comments on foreskins. Most important as here in California, at least, routine infant circumcision is on the decline, and lots of kids are growing up without proper guidance. Fathers being circumcised themselves have no personal experience and no one dare speak about it for fear of being accused.
I appreciated your words.
@ Sixpence - Yes, you should! They sure are fascinating.
@ Anon, 6:48 AM - Routine cutting of infants is on the decline in the U.S. overall. But, the problem - as you pointed out - is that many fathers are cut and have zero clue. To make matters worse, they don't want to discuss cock hygiene or grooming with their sons. And that is going to lead to problems - which, in turn, will lead to a return of routine circumcision.
@ Anon - Dec 17, 8:45 PM - Holy Moses, that had to be awful. Glad you found someone who was able to fix the problem. In the long run, sounding is no worse than catheterization - if you know what you're doing, I suppose.
I had my foreskin removed in a hospital in Italy when I was 12(October 1963) It simply did not allow me to develop sexually. Within 6 months I started growing pubic hair and I had wet dreams. By age 17 I was so hairy I looked like I was 30. About that time I was totally shaved around my dick and balls to have stones removed from my kidneys and bladder. It took years to grow back. For years I felt like my dick was fully exposed because the head was totally free...
Most often phimosis can be treated with a dorsal notch instead of a circumcision. Creating a small notch on the underside of the penis will remove the cause of phimosis and allow for faster recovery with the foreskin in place. After healing, the penis looks as before but with ease in retraction.
