All-time Record

The heatwave scorching the Western U.S. might have many people wishing for Winter.

Canada hit an all-time record high of 118F.

This is some serious heat folks.

Lots of folks seem to be heading anywhere they can find to cool off.

As Jean mentioned in her comment yesterday: Stay hydrated!

Hope you're staying cool.

Those temps over 100 were brutal!

We're having tons of rain here in Chi. The differences are shocking.
It's been raining literally non-stop for several days. No joke.
Stay cool!

XOXO

I'm surprised you mentioned our Canadian heat record as on any USA's TV channels the weather never goes accross the Canadian border. Kind of showing how selfcentered Americans are even in weather forecast.

Here in all Canadian TV news about weather we have a ALL North America view to see how the weather systems are affecting us which most of the time come from USA or even Mexico.

Here in Montreal it's also quite hot (35°C-95°F with a humidity factor over 40°C) it's also a record for this time of the year here too but never like in BC or Alberta.

For me I have 4 air conditioning machines in my 6 1/2 appartement home.
I keep it cool around 23-24°C (71°F).

The worst has passed (for now) in Seattle, and we have survived. Keep cool, yourself.

It was 120 degrees with 9% humidity on my shaded patio in Southwest Washington. Nope. There ain't nothin' to this global warming thang. Just more goll dern fake news from them democrats so they can make us do things we don't want to. You know, like use alternate sources of energy, drive less, conserve more. Ain't nobody gonna tell me what I can do. I'll waste resources if I dern well please. Besides, I'll be pushing up daisies before the summers hit 140 degrees. Let them younguns worry about it!!!

I would happily join any of the featured gentlemen as they beat the heat. Who knows... perhaps they could be persuaded to beat something else! Adversity is just another word for opportunity. Kizzes.

It's the humidity that is killing us with the heat, in the morning our windows are so steamed up you can't see out of them. Our humidity is in the upper 90s in the morning and tonight it is now down to 75%. In las Vegas the humidity right now is 17%. Hugs and bisous.

Staying cool, and staying hydrated, essential for good health, but remember brothers that alcohol in this heat is not hydration, in fact it is the opposite! So one or two beers - no more! Drink lottsa water! Or tea. My favorite! Love you all.

@ Six - I fear more is on its way to you. Heavy, heavy rains here yesterday afternoon. Then heavy winds. Stay safe and dry! XOXO

@ JiEL - You're correct. The only reason they mentioned Canada was because of the record temps. Sad to say but Americans are very self-centered.

@ Mistress - OMG. That's stifling for PA - if coupled with humidity, even worse. Don't pass up the chance to cool off in a pool or to be naked at the Woods.

whkattk said...

@ Milleson - Yep. That's about the size of it - for climate and damn near everything else.

whkattk said...

@ Upton - Keeping it positive! Kisses.

@ Jean - Yikes! We do feel that 17%, too. We're such wimps out here in the desert. LOL. Hugs and bisous!

When you say "All-time Record" it's obvious that it's unfortunately not including the times to come, isn't it?

Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

I grab some fluids. (Consider Pedialyte obligatory. You're going to lose electrolytes: That's actually a factor in sun stroke.) After electrolytes, everything else is personal preference. Some soda, some juice, some tea, some flavored water...Or just drink water.

Look for other chilled foods to have throughout this. Maybe microwaved. I avoid the oven because I don't want to make my apartment hotter.

A/C, on. Fans, on. Clothes, off. Ice trays, full. Now just to put on some cheesy movies. And they laughed at me for parking in the lowest level of the garage.

Could be an all-time record for your frequent postings, too 😉
