A great question from Faithful Reader Jean on the post about VPL (Visible Penis Line) bulges and boners.
"I'm curious, does a man or a woman staring or admiring your VPL, make you feel uncomfortable? When does admiring turn into leering?"
When I was dating the girl who would eventually become Wife #1, we bought matching orange and white brushed cotton pants. They fit like a second skin. My dad threw a fit, "You look like a sissy! Don't wear those around me!" (That was my father, through and through.) My mom only said, "You want everyone to know what you've got?"
I hadn't been liberated by the military in those days
and still wore tighty-whities, but the bulge was quite pronounced and I liked it. Probably because my girlfriend liked it. And I did get a lot of stares at the crotch. Especially when a boner struck.
I can't recall ever being embarrassed...only proud of the bulge. And, of course, through my years in the military, I learned to lose any shame of my cock in any stage of function. I didn't care who saw it --- hard or soft --- if they wanted to stare, stare away.
Through the years that attitude has remained with me. Which is why I easily skinny-dip in my pool and why I'll take advantage of any clothing-optional situation presented. A nude cruise? Yes, please. Nude beach, absolutely yes, please!
Guys, does it make you uncomfortable if someone stares at your VPL?

From junior high school in the early 70's through college into the mid 80's, 90% of the guys at my schools wore skin tight jeans and boxers. There were VPL's and visible ball lines everywhere. There were no secrets.
It doesn't bother us to have people look, through more people check out Maxima's than mine. Having hosted nude dinner parties, going skinny dipping (and chunky dunking), going for nude drives and being nude around the house daily, people can look all they want. Having had people look at us naked, looking at our budges' or penis lines means nothing. We are both comfortable with our bodies and people checking out what we've got.
Sometimes I know I have a visible penis line or you can literally see the length of it, especially in button flies, but I always have some kind of bulge I'm told. But there's only so much you can do. I usually wear underwear but other times I go commando especially in spring summer. don't think I've ever gotten uncomfortable cuz half the time I'm not thinking about it. But when it comes to working I never have been, as there's always been a lot of gay men where I work, and I sure as hell no they don't mind! When I see it on other guys I love it, if I rather sexy and hot.
My boss, who is straight and married... he's a damn VP... he looks at my crotch when I talk to him. It is the oddest thing and I don't know what to do about it. I will never say anything... but... while normally having someone check me out is welcome and doesn't bother me... this situation does a tiny bit... but I can't ever say anything. I don't think he's aware that he's doing it?
Sometimes, it's quite noticeable on some guys... Doesn't bother me. 😏
In my younger days I wore those skin-tight jeans and liked what they showed. Nowadays I wear dad jeans so it's moot.
@ Upton - It's the way with straight men; I have a feeling he doesn't even realize he's looking at your bulge....
The number one selling bra is called the "T-shirt Bra", it is lightly lined so you can wear a T-shirt and nipples don't show. I have never heard of any men's underwear that tries to hide anything, so there is THE difference. Women are very self-conscious and we think men are too. We might wear a skimpy T-shirt, but we're going to have that T-shirt bra on.
Pat, that's what your mother was trying to tell you! Hugs and bisous.
And don't think I didn't notice the pool shot from the Woods!!!!! I already miss it.
Society has to get over this indulgence with being offended by every little thing, especially when the offense is manufactured in the brain of the person being offended, the object of offense is generally not doing anything to the offended, just emitting photons. If you don't want to receive photons that might offend your sensibilities, don't look.: you aren't being forced to like in "Clockwork Orange".
That boss that stares at the crotch probably has to do so, because looking into your eyes you would see the lust and he would melt. At least looking at the crotch he could explain it away as admiring your tailor or dress sense.
I think there are a lot of closeted gay or bi men out there that did what society wanted or deemed appropriate, rather than what they wanted.
VPL on other men doesn't bother me: I don't have enough "body" most of the time to be worried myself, apart from being quickly dismissed as irrelevant. I have become used to being almost invisible to most people, because I can't offer them anything, even in fantasy, they might want.
I like showing my penis line and also my balls line. It is a good feeling having my goodies tight in my jeans. If someone wants to look at what is on display, he or she is welcome. I often stand a bit spread-legged to enhance my bulge.
@ Maddie - Feel free to send me a few more of the pool at The Woods....
Well, I have to admit I look at them, ‘cause in some cases they’re quite noticeable… And I’ve never been told anything.
On the ither way round, I have realized some guys (and girls) have had a look at my crotch, because I usually wear quite tight jeans, and they don’t leave anything to the imagination… And I don’t feel embarrased. I have got what I have got, and it shouldn’t be a trouble for enyone.
Sometimes, my friends I am more confident with, they say I sometimes fill the jeans “a lot”, but I’m not offended. Why should I?
Clockwork Orange. Gives whole new meaning to "Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben"
You have a sexual harassment case.
Funny how just today I had a quick look at a colleague's bulge, a couple of hours after I had discreetly taken a glimpse at his lovely bubble-butt as he was passing by :-)
Anyway, you busted summed-up what I think about the matter when you wrote "if they want to stare, stare away".
Whenever I notice someone, anyone looking at my bulge I just take it for what it is: a simple and natural curiosity. Certainly not something to feel uncomfortable about, even less chocked.
Reminds me the time I told my fav' sister in law how amusing I found women who pretend that the first thing they look at in a man is either their eyes or their hands. To which she spontaneously answered "Oh me I always look at their butt first!". She's a love :-)
@ Laurent - She's a love and she's honest. It really is amusing to hear women say they don't look at the bulge, because of course they do. Just like men - regardless of orientation - do. Don't know why we can't all just admit it.
when i was young, i was very shy. But I don't have any VPL because honestly it bothers me that anyone could see that I'm horny. It's my business.
