May Seem Silly

The Urban Word of the Day sometimes gives me a good chuckle.

Nutterflies

The nervous feeling that arises when you want to stroke the salami, but fear someone might walk in or come home.

"I really wanted to watch Brazilian Bang Bus but got nutterflies because my mom would be home in ten minutes."

Pair that with:

"Yesterday was my 18 birthday and suddenly its ok to look at porn I knew what a hard dick looked like 8 or 9 years ago All I had to do was look in a mirror or spy on my dad or older brother I knew what jacking off was for the same reason and I was certainly doing it myself Sometimes things don't make a lot of sense Cool blog btw"

Ah, yes....

What a Difference a Day Makes. I think it has something to do with "perceived maturity." Society places an arbitrary age on any number of things. Old enough to drive a car. Old enough to get married. Old enough to get a credit card. Old enough to purchase a home or take out a loan (other than student debt).

Those are the ages at which society believes one is mentally mature enough to handle a given situation. It just so happens that the number is 18 for explicit sexual content.

It may seem silly, but it's what we're all stuck with.

I was sexually knowledgeable because of friends and a couple cousins near my age by 12. Sad we are stuck with a certain age. Many kids are ready for responsibility way before 18 and some aren't until well after 18...Pictures are hot.

Of course, the age of legal maturity varies by country or even by state in the USA.

Old enough to drive? 16. Old enough to enlist and die for your country? 17. Old enough to vote? 18. Old enough to have a beer? 21.

Q.: In an Evangelists' or Baptists' perfect world, at what age does masturbation become permitted?
A.: Never, you sinner! Your Godly fluid was only meant to procreate, and women are not even allowed to take pleasure from it.
(though in real life the aforementioned believers do whatever pleases them, as long as their neighbors are not aware...°
Even in my family I could name a couple of people who should never have been allowed to have children - starting with my own parents, LoL!

Society has too many artificial constructs, especially around sex.

Well welcome to... I'm not sure 18 is even considered an adult for a lot of things yet. And then there's the whole idea of maturity.
Hugs and bisous.

Age restrictions are sometimes silly. As Unashamed said, those age limits make no sense. You can kill and get killed at 17 but can only drink at 21. The hell?

I never payed attention to it and was letting older guys hit it when I was 15.

XOXO

Hello bigwhackattack -- I really enjoyed finding out about the word "Nutterflies" and particularly appreciated that first GIF that accompanied the definition of Nutterflies. In fact, I liked 'em so much that I posted them on my own blog! :-) Right here -- https://carlmillerdaniels.blogspot.com/2023/02/hi.html. Yes, I gave you credit! :-) Best wishes, Carl Miller Daniels

Part of the problem with 21 for a beer - teenage drinking is responsible for a number of fatal accidents. Of course, distractions from the other passengers is another contributing factor.
.
Now. Most boys go through puberty in the 12-14 age range. And masturbation (if you have a friend or brother or other relative) is learned at those ages. No, you don't have to wait until someone flips a switch when you turn 18!

When will we learn that the universe is analogue and statistical distributions, not impulse functions and consequently arbitrary thresholds are quite pointless?

One doesn't go from being immature to mature in a fraction of a second and responsibility needs to be progressively increased and monitored for ability to handle it, tailored to the individual.

@ Hooter - maturity is not determined simply by knowledge. Knowing your body is theoretically capable of ejaculating and creating children does not mean you are mature enough to be able to achieve it or handle the associated responsibility and obligations. Some women are taking advantage of immature boys to rape them, have their child and then charge them child support.

I enjoyed the story about the 18 yo who suddenly became legal to watch porn.

I think porn is a gift. I don't find it offensive. I'd much rather watch a porn of people having sex than a film full of violence, blood and guts, etc. The violence is what I find offensive.

Just my two cents...
