The big news rocketing around the world yesterday seemed to be Anderson Cooper's acknowledgement he's gay. Well, it should have been no big surprise to anyone. He is the kind of classy guy who just simply lived his life; he felt no need to declare his sexual preference. Yes, it's a part of who he is, but that is true for all of us humans on this planet.
I commend him for the way he did it as well as the "why." To make asumptive accusations about a person's sexuality is not a kind thing. We may think we're doing them a favor, but many, many times - especially when it comes to celebrities - it's not really news at all. Like Neil Patrick Harris - people thought they could kill his career by "outing him" when, in fact, his career has really taken off because of it.
I may lose some followers because of this stance. If so... well, I'm sorry about that. But, I still maintain a person's sexual preference, orientation, or whatever you wish to call it, is inconsequential. We're "sexual beings" period. What we find arousing spans such a humongous arc across the specturm... We should all simply allow one another to "be" and stop making such a huge deal about it.
Women are still going to think The "Silver Fox" Coop is hot because he is! He's also one hell of a good journalist - and that's who and what he is: A journalist. People are still going to enjoy Neil's performances because he's a good actor, because that's who and what he is: An actor.
Let Anderson enjoy his cock in whatever manner he likes (so long as he's not causing harm to anyone else). Because, and I can promise you this, he's going to let you enjoy yours in the way you most enjoy.
Alone...
With a friend...
Or in a big group...
Our cocks are there for our enjoyment and we should be able to do so without being judged.

Yes, I was happy to hear the news. The more public figures like the Coup that come out the better for all in this day and time. I do agree with you that labels are not important. The closer we get to no labels the better we shall be. Fucking hot pix by the way. I can't take my eys off the second guy's nuts. What a mouth full. Thanks for inspiring me once Again! : ) Cheers, AOM
I agree with you 110% and would like to add that this particular 'outing' is bittersweet at best.
I totally understand why he felt compelled to do it but I hate the fact that what the public 'thinks' has so much potential power to destroy us. It's not over for Anderson yet; expect to see an avalanche really vicious and uncalled-for commentary from the Reality whores until these 15 minutes become yesterday's stale garbage.
And FK YEAH.. gr8 pics!!!
Let peole be who and what they are! That is how nature (God) made them and meant them to be. Thanks for another great selection of photos! Would love to part of a group!
I know you know how I feel about Coming Out..since you read my blog often.
If a guy like to suck Dicks.or fuck Asses then let everyone know openly. Hiding it only makes it seem like something wrong... which we know is not the case.
Years ago my lover and I found a quiet deserted area of the LA airport to wait out a long lay-over. There were a couple of other guys a few rows back facing us. It wasn't until my lover nudged me and murmured "Isn't that Neil Patrick Harris?" that I even noticed them. He and the other young man were holding hands and talking quite earnestly until he noticed us watching. Not wishing to frighten them further, we got up smiled knowingly, waved and left the area. We never told anyone until he was outed some years later what we had seen. When his twins were born we saw that his life partner was the same man. If you know someone with a secret it isn't your business to question it. Your business is to keep it.
A damn good post that I happily read on Independence Day!
Great post! Re Anderson Cooper, I wonder how CNN will handle the situation & more importantly whether Anderson Cooper himself will ever on live TV make reference to being gay or to who his significant other, Benjamin Maisani http://www.zimbio.com/Benjamin+Maisani/articles/bmmMDqTod4Q/Ben+Maisani+Anderson+Cooper+Spotted+Looking , is. Don Lemons occasionally & openly & mirthfully alludes to the fact of being gay, & obviously CNN couldn't care less. In my opinion Anderson Cooper is one of the very few good things about CNN, so Anderson Cooper has the winning hand re the matter.
@ QH - Yes, I do know! :-) But I love the way The Coop has handled it - - He's treated it as if it is no big deal, which it shouldn't be!
Personally, I long for the day two guys can walk hand-in-hand down any street, in any city, town or tiny burgh, anywhere in this country, and not be harrassed but thought of as normal human beings.
@ cum.lover - Yep, I think CNN doesn't care one way or the other.
@ Rex V - Yeah, he's another one who simnply went about living his life until someone else thought it was important to announce it.
@ AOM - Yes, you make good, valid points.
@ O!Daddie - Oh, my...I sure hope it will actually go unnoticed.
@ Westernstock & LP - Thank you both!
CNN ought to care a lot that AC is out. It ought to trumpet him for it. CNN's ratings are now so under water that making a big deal of the facts that (a) Coup is publicly gay & proud of it; (b) upscale & to the manor born (through his mother, of course, a Vanderbilt); (c) immensely talented & intelligent; & (d) thoroughly moral & decent would probably help improve its miserable ratings.
Footnote: Piers Morgan & Big Daddy Wolf Blitzer are in my opinion unwatchable.
