The Survey Says!


A recent article from the guys over at Men’s Health yet again supports whacking off. I’ve paraphrased and reworded (obviously).

A survey conducted by AdamandEve.com revealed only 27% of Americans admitted to going it alone once or twice a week.

This seems mighty low to me. Especially since science has shown that beating off provides such great benefits. And, perhaps, I find the results suspect because the only people surveyed were browsing an adult store website. “Masturbation is part of a healthy sex life,” says Gloria Brame, Ph.D., a clinical sexologist. “It’s totally safe and harmless. It’s healthier than brushing your teeth every day.”

It prevents cancer. A 2003 Australian study found that men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer. Disease-causing toxins build up in your urogenital tract; when you toss one off, they get flushed from your system.


It makes you harder. As we age, we lose muscle tone. Yep, even down there (I’ve told you before there are muscles attached to that hunk of meat). If you’re blowing your load after 50, next time try for 60. “Most men can double the number of strokes and the time within one month,” Cadell says. Practice makes perfect and who doesn’t like to practice this and make those wonderous sensations go on and on?


It ups your immunity. Cumming increases levels of the hormone cortisol, says Jennifer Landa, M.D., a specialist in hormone therapy. Cortisol normally gets a bad rap as a havoc-wrecking stress hormone, but it actually helps regulate and maintain your immunity in small doses. “Masturbation can produce the right environment for a strengthened immune system,” she says.


It boosts your mood. Jacking off releases a whole handful of feel-good neurochemicals. Stuff  like dopamine and oxytocin that lift your spirits, boost your satisfaction, and activate the reward circuits in your brain. “An orgasm is the biggest non-drug blast of dopamine available,” says Brame. “A brain scan of someone having an orgasm looks like a heroin addict’s.” No wonder some guys are addicted to getting off!

I really find it hard to believe that only 27% jerked off only once or twice a week.
Maybe I just know a lot of very horny guys.. I thought the norm was once or twice a day.
