Hard-Flaccid Syndrome

Boners are good. Boners are good for you.

I've posted that many times over the years of this blog.

But what happens when they don't fully develop? You can get a semi-hardon --- the chub --- but no matter what you do, no matter what the stimulation, the cock just won't stand up?

As a guy who knows how frustrating it can be, this article by Magdalene Taylor over at MEL magazine, "THE PAINFUL MYSTERY OF HARD-FLACCID SYNDROME" (HFS) proves it's more than "all in your head."

"As many men with HFS report, they’re told they’re imagining things or written off with a prescription for pills. To that end, a 2020 study published in Basic and Clinical Andrology states that HFS “is not recognized by the sexual medicine community, and poorly recognized in the daily clinical experience.

This YouTube clip explains the syndrome.

The problem is experienced by quite a few men, if more than 1700 Reddit members are any indication, but the medical community is pretty much ignoring it. So, naturally, the guys have taken matters into their own hands, so-to-speak.

There's a group addressing the symptoms, possible causes, and possible solutions on Reddit: r/Hard_Flaccid

When doctors don't want to listen to you, you take to the internet. One of the group's moderators explained to Taylor,  I basically had no idea what to do about it. I ended up going to a few urologists, but most shot me down or gave me Cialis. One even made me get circumcision surgery.

Pelvic floor exercises helped him: Kegels, the stretch and relax exercises, sort of the opposite of Kegels (I posted about several weeks ago), and Perineum Massage, (which I also posted about a few weeks ago).

There's still no real answers. Some things worked for some guys, but not all. But, as we know, most men are not ready to give up on regaining a functioning cock.

I've never heard of this. Thanks for the interesting links.

It's a shame the one man with a problem was told a circumcision would solve his problems.

I used to see a guy that would come over weekly to my house for some fun and he had this issue. But I never minded it, because for some reason I love giving oral on a dick that only gets semi hard. There is something about the feel of the cock in a semi hard state. Although by sucking on it, he did get fully hard a few times.

I had known someone who suffered from HFS, but I had thought that it was due to his age and I had attributed absolutely no importance to this fact.

Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

It's unbelievable that doctors are not taking this seriously; it makes you think that they simply don't have a solution. And if some folks have found things that work, it confirms that there was a problem to begin with.
hugs and bisous.

@ Paul - Can you imagine??? What nonsense! The guy was desperate and did it. Very sad.

@ Six - the more we know, right? XOXO

@ Jean - I sometimes think the medical community is too quick to say it's all in your head and it isn't a physical issue. When they don't have an answer, they pretend there is no problem. I spent close to 5 years going from doctor to doctor before one had the tenacity to keep looking for answers. Not that the diagnosis helped - but at least I finally knew what was happening to me. Hugs and bisous.

The problem is, virtually all cases of impotence in patients under 40 are psychosomatic. There are even different psychosomatic causes, from mundane stress to performance anxiety to sexual abuse.

This is not psychosomatic. This is an actual traumatic injury. Hard Flaccid Syndrome is also common in very endowed men.

And really, circumcision? Just assume in all cases that it's glorified superstition and move on.

Testicular breathing, Kegels, reverse Kegels, scrotal stretching, and massage.
All ancient techniques that work. Proper breath, diet, and rest.
Get these right first then look within and last of all if nothing helps, see a uroligist.
