PRIDE 2023

Thank you for all the comments and emails. I truly appreciate them all. I'm back as best as can be today. Got home on Monday, and it's been a very, very rough recovery, with more to go.

Follow-up with the surgeon for lab results is scheduled for July 6.

In the meantime

enjoy the final day of Pride Month. Yes, even as the Supreme Court has ruled against LGBTQ+ again. Just as yesterday's ruling on college admissions, it was expected of this Extreme Court of the United States, which has made it clear they intend to turn this country back 50 or 60 years. But, here's my take on ruling in favor of that designer: "Please, do let me know you don't want my business. I will very happily take my money elsewhere."

We all simply need to show them in 2024

Can you pick out the gays?

that LGBTQ+ people VOTE.

Meanwhile, I'll be patiently eagerly awaiting approval

to get in the pool.

Have a terrific weekend.

I noted your appointment for July 6th. I welcome your news which are better than we feared, to begin with I wish you the best possible weekend.

Yay!
Glad to read you're back. And that yo are on the way to recovery!
Bummer about that SCOTUS ruling, but it was expected. The Right put those justices there to do just this: be racist and homophobic.

People do need to get off their comfortable asses and vote, though...

XOXO

Glad to see that you're well enough to post. That means it won't be long and you'll be back in the pool. Take it easy.

"Congratulations!" That's not quite the right word for successfully completing your surgery, but it'll have to do for now! I hope the follow up comes out well.

re: the designer who didn't design for LGBTQ+ clients--
.
I agree with your attitude, "I'll take my trade elsewhere."
.
My concern is that this is one step closer to a business saying, "No Coloreds" and being allowed to get away with it. It's a matter of free speech, you see...
.
What shades of 'colored' does that include?
.
And what about "Long-haired, freaky people?" Need they apply?

Oh, 6/25 was the anniversary of Little Big Horn, or as we call it, Victory Day.

It was a fucking hypothetical! She's not even a web designer, and the man she claimed was suing her had no idea what she was talking about, and was already married! To a woman!

I hope you're feeling better soon, Pat. Regarding the Supreme Court web designer case, I agree with you. If everyone who supports LGBTQ rights takes their money elsewhere (note that over 70% of Americans support gay marriage), maybe homophobic idiots like that web designer will find that being a bigot has consequences. -Larry

Glad all is well. Do keep us posted. As for SCOTUS... I still cannot believe it. I feel like we're in a time machine. We must move forward... vote... blue. And as progressive as we can!

Hi. Glad hat you ar back in the saddle. happy trails.

@Unashamed Male: She's never designed a page in her life. The alleged plaintiff was already married, to a woman, and surprised that he had apparently asked for a wedding page "by tomorrow".

Charge her with perjury. Like, seriously, perjury subverts the entire court system as it is; never let this brand of fool go unjailed.

If impeachment is a possibility, and that's a longshot, subornation becomes a possible charge, and voila! New court.

Kinda sucks, though. Gorsuch has been the best for Indians, even if he's absolutely awful to everyone else.

Just remember, the Clinton campaign told Dem loyalists in the Midwest to vote for Trump.

It would've been so easy to renounce Bill's trade policies too, particularly on China. Most of the pundits who had supported said policies, like Tom Friedman, were full tankie now, saying we should be more like *checks notes* a totalitarian state which executes dissidents and puts Muslims in slave camps.

For my part, Sanders supporters were sent CP by Clinton supporters. I experienced this particular, highly illegal, form of harassment myself. That was pretty much a red flag. But again, she needs to control her more strident supporters. (And send the kiddie porn spammers to prison.) But I'm in a safe state. Though again, MI, WI, and PA would be safe states for a competent Dem candidate, and OH would be a swing state (and probably an easy W against Trump). But no, she had to try to win Klan Country instead, and won exactly as many states there as she could.

tl;dr: Clinton is responsible for her own defeat. We need to contain the Clinton wing, make them know they aren't leading for the foreseeable future.
