Honoring David Bowie

It was that man who brought bisexuality out of the closet to a whole generation of people. Until him, many folks I knew had never heard of such a thing! To be brave enough to share things like that, as he did, as Elton did, opens a dialogue which needs to happen.
We may be aroused by tits and pussy,
1
we may be aroused by cocks and balls
2
we may be aroused by both.
3
It doesn't matter. And no matter where we fall on the spectrum of sexuality: Bi, gay, straight, solosexual, asexual, or anywhere in between on the entire spectrum, it is who we are. We should be free to express it and enjoy it.
Because sex of any (consensual) kind should be a joyous experience.

Fantastic post! Nature (God) has endowed us with our sexuality! It is a special gift, it is an integral part of who and what we are! Let us live it to the full and never be ashamed of it! Hugs across the waves, Patrick

Sorry! Meant to tell you! I had a message from Paul. He is still recovering from his illness as well as attending to the duties of his office! He did not sound very happy! Patrick

David Bowie was and will probably remain my favorite singer being not a French.
He was one year younger than me.
I have always more and more reasons to think that I have lived too much.

His song that I prefer is "The Port Of Amsterdam" of Jacques Brel.

In the port of Amsterdam
There's a sailor who sings
Of the dreams that he brings
From the wide open sea
In the port of Amsterdam
There's a sailor who sleeps
While the river bank weeps
To the old willow tree

In the port of Amsterdam
There's a sailor who dies
Full of beer, full of cries
In a drunken town fight
In the port of Amsterdam
There's a sailor who's born
On a hot muggy morn
By the dawn's early light

In the port of Amsterdam
Where the sailors all meet
There's a sailor who eats
Only fish heads and tails
And he'll show you his teeth
That have rotted too soon
That can haul up the sails
That can swallow the moon

And he yells to the cook
With his arms open wide
"Hey, bring me more fish
Throw it down by my side"
And he wants so to belch
But he's too full to try
So he stands up and laughs
And he zips up his fly

In the port of Amsterdam
You can see sailors dance
Paunches bursting their pants
Grinding women to porch
They've forgotten the tune
That their whiskey voice croaked
Splitting the night
With the roar of their jokes
And they turn and they dance
And they laugh and they lust
Till the rancid sound of the accordion bursts
And then out of the night
With their pride in their pants
And the sluts that they tow
Underneath the street lamps

In the port of Amsterdam
There's a sailor who drinks
And he drinks and he drinks
And he drinks once again
He'll drink to the health
Of the whores of Amsterdam
Who've given their bodies
To a thousand other men
Yeah, they've bargained their virtue
Their goodness all gone
For a few dirty coins
Well he just can't go on
Throws his nose to the sky
And he aims it up above
And he pisses like I cry
On the unfaithful love

In the port of Amsterdam
In the port of Amsterdam

Rest In Peace, Ziggy Stardust!

Seeking sex can lead to many tries to find yourself. Bowie seemed to find himself with his 2nd wife Iman, had a child and then drooped out of the hectic world, to spend it with them. He had a number of heart attacts during this period and he left the music world as much as he could. It probably granted him another 15 years. RIP

@ MFP - and so very few remember that he played David Merrick on Broadway, so he was a talented actor as well.

I did the musical called "Jaques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris" three different times. Loved the music, and though few knew it, Bowie brought it to the modern masses.

I was surprised to learn that bulge was all Bowie in Labyrinth.
