Priapus Shots?

I'm running late :-D .... An awful lot going on this week. But, this question was posed via email:

"Had a question for you and your readers. There is treatment that is being touted as a treatment for ED, the P-Shot (Priapus Shot). Was wondering if you or your readers had any experience or knowledge of the procedure and/or experience. As a mid-40's male, I noticed erections not as strong and fading quicker. Viagra/Cialis do work, but with all the usual mild side effects and hassles. The physician I see has trained under the inventor, a Dr. Runnels. The procedure injects platelet rich plasma (PRP) into the penis in several points along the length and tip. It is claimed to treat ED for up to 18 months and improve sensation. It is used along with pumping to help re-vascularize the corpus cavernosum to improve overall rigidity. There is a lot of research of this treatment modality for other areas, but seems pretty new to this application. Appreciate any information or opinions you or your readers may have.  -A"

IF the testosterone levels are normal and there is still an issue with getting hard.... Off the top of my head, it sounds as if this is meant to get more oxygen to the area. Injected platelets and plasma should be safe enough if it is your own - and over time will be absorbed into the body. But, the word "priapus" concerns me, because that intimates the cock will be hard longer than is healthy.

Boners are important to a man's overall health. If you can find something safe - key word being safe - and effective, go for it.

If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated! In the meantime, I'll see what I can dig up.
Readers?

As for me, if that does not involve a disease, I prefer to let Mother Nature make what she wants, rather than to toss to know if a miraculous treatment born yesterday by falling from the sky with the last rain is at the same time effective and without danger.
As far as I know, the PRP is used to speed up the healing process in the treatment of the arthritic knee, or in shoulder surgery to repair torn rotator cuff tendons, on in treatment of acute sports injuries, such as ligament and muscle injuries. It is an alternative to the cortisone, nothing esle or more.
If you are considering treatment with PRP, be sure to check your eligibility with your health insurance carrier.

I have a question almost as important and relevant (what is surely rare, this record being hard to beat).
I heard on the television that the Americans buy 870,000 tons of pumpkins for Halloween. But they did not say if it is an average per capita or if it is about all the population. What do you think about it?
Maybe something like “How can we be so stupid, I hope that it is not contagious;” but anyway, I wish you a wondrous weekend, my darlings Jean and Pat, with all my best hugs and bisous.

I haven't heard of this procedure either, but have a friend who uses something to inject into the base of his penis that gives him a hard-on that "could hold up a can of paint" according to him. It's only good for a few hours but he makes the most of it.

Sounds kinda sketchy. I've heard of athletes using platelet-rich plasma for pain or wound healing, but in RCTs, it does no better than a placebo.

Fortunately, for this, it's very easy: Blood platelets don't carry oxygen. Nor do they dilate blood vessels. There is simply no conceivable way, given what we know about vascular physiology, for this to work.

My 2 cents, he should be doing all the things first that support erections. He is a fairly young man, is he overweight? Poor diet? Get in the best shape you can, cut the fast/processed foods- hit the gym - do all this first. Make it a daily commitment if erections are important to you. You have 40-50 years ahead of you!! At his age, his body is telling him this. Hugs and bisous.

This is a cosmetic procedure people get done throughout Asia for both the face and for reducing excessive scarring. Its commonly refered to as a Vampire Facial (when involving the face). The goal of it is to help assist the skins natural collagen regeneration to improve your skins appearance from deeper within your epidermis layers. The after-care process is intense and thats just when its on your face.

Its also similar to vaginal rejuvenation procedures. Giving the skins colagen regen process a jumpstart via this sort of procedure. Its always a risky area and the condition of your skin is different from your face to your genitals.

The biggest alarm bell would be its a trademarked application. Always get a second referral when doctors try to push any patented procedure to you. ED issues are never fixed with a quick fix.

@ MFP - That is for the entire population. Goodness, per capita would be exceptionally gluttonous! LOL.
