Make An Appearance

Gabriel asked if I had a favorite to win. After seeing every nominated film, my bet was for Green Book. And, by golly, it took home the statue. I know of all the controversy between Blackkklansman and Green Book. (And allow me to opine that some of the trash-talk saying Peter Farrelly being white means he shouldn't have any right to tell the story is bogus.) The former was well done and was my prediction until I saw the latter. While film exists to elicit emotion, visceral reaction shouldn't determine the outcome. It should be a matter of observing all the aspects of a film: acting, directing, script, cinematography, editing...the whole shebang. Taking it all into consideration, well...
We had a terrific time, and yesterday didn't help me fully catch up on sleep. I'm still exhausted and the M.D. doesn't help. 😐 Even massive amounts of coffee isn't encouraging the eyes to say open, or chasing the yawns away.
So, if you'll forgive me...I think I'm going to go read my newspaper
and then go back to bed.
With any amount of luck, wood may not only make an appearance

but stick around for a bit.

Sounds like you had a good time...and very in sync with the Academy voters. Everybody is going on about Gaga/Bradley song and them being too intimate, but I thought it was fitting for the song and movie it came from. What did you think?

Hope you got some rest!

@ Gabriel - I thought Bradley staged it perfectly. He knows exactly how to tug on the emotions. So, too intimate? Not in my book.

Yo Bro! So glad to hear you enjoyed your "Super Bowl"! I haven't seen the films so I didn't watch any of it. I hope you are feeling better, my Friend. I wish you a bonerific day! Hugs, Licks, and Strokes, AoM

Mostly it's "comedy about how being black in the wrong place at the wrong time can kill you" just sounds like "how to be terrible and pretend you're woke at the same time".
