I find it odd that everyone would have trunks or suits on in a jacuzzi or sauna / steam room that is male-only. But, it seems to be a growing situation with the younger generation.
The last gym I belonged to --- before the Muscular Dystrophy hit --- I was taking water aerobics classes. After class one day, I was in the showers along with a couple other men. Adjacent to the showers were the sinks. Opposite those was a bench. A young guy came marching in, naked with a full erection. I think I have only been naked (well, half-naked cause I had a towel) at a gay sauna. I have never been to a straight sauna.

I have never been in stalls, showers, sauna, Jacuzzi, or even the spas and steam rooms, and my ignorance disqualifies me from expressing opinions or advices.
It is true that I lived until I was 20 in Madagascar (cities of Tamatave and Tananarive) where if my memory serves me well I never even heard one of these denominations.

I don't go to a gym but remember one time in Junior High showers after gym class I had an erection and another kid said, "Oh, I get those, too." We were just learning then.

So after reading this blog for a number of years, my first reaction was, is that a trick question? LOL.
I think this might be a generational thing. Starting with growing up, I had plenty of friends and I don’t know anyone who had their own private bedroom. Brothers typically shared a bedroom and so did sisters, and families were often larger. But nowadays everybody expects to have their own bedroom and their own privacy. Also so few these days have been in the military.

Years back, when YMCAs were for males only,I occasionally saw (and got) hard ons. Most of the men were WWII or Korean War vets, and being naked was no big deal. Creepiness is an expression of fear: what's there to fear in a "public" environment between men more evenly matched in strength? The statistics are against anything untoward occurring.
Even if another man comes onto you, they are likely more afraid of rejection and humiliation than the other man: take it as a compliment, thank them for their interest, but politely decline to reciprocate if you are not.
This reminds me of womens paranoia in imagining any man they see is out to rape them, without being able to reason the likelihood is quite small in any particular situation.
