Nothing Is Foolproof

Masturbation has been around for ever. So has mutual masturbation. The idea of mutual got a great promotional boost during the 80s HIV/AIDS crisis. And again when COVID hit. It's considered the safest sex one can engage in.

BUT

There's always a "but."

Gabrielle Kassel, New York based sex and fitness writer, who often pens the articles in Healthline that I read, in this latest report, spells out a few caveats when it comes to jacking off - even without a buddy or partner along for the fun.

First she explains the difference between a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD): "STIs are sexually transmitted infections. STDs are sexually transmitted diseases. An STI is only considered a disease when it causes symptoms."

Well, that explains why STD suddenly became STI in many, many articles.

Everyone knows how these things get shared from person to person. Even during mutual masturbation when things get hot and heavy, precum is flowing or cum is flying. As Lisa Finn, sex educator at Babeland, tells our intrepid reporter, If you’re in close enough proximity that body fluid can be exchanged, if someone has an STI, an STI can be transmitted.

But did you know you could transmit an infection to yourself? Who knew?

Finn explains "if you use spit as lube" (pretty popular among guys too embarrassed to have a bottle of lube in the house), and then anally finger yourself (getting more and more popular with men as they've discovered the value of the prostate) you can transmit an infection from one area to another.

Bottom line: Jacking off, alone or with a partner or a group is the safest sex there is.

But, as usual, nothing is foolproof.

OK, but not equally. The fact is that you have listed them in the order of the most safe to the least safe.

Hugs and bisous, my darling Jean and Pat.
Have a great Weekend.

Right. Just consider the brain damage it caused to a certain President who liked being peed over.
His hair just went orange!
(and his head nuts)

Infection in women is much more common because everything is closer together. (Women are always taught to wipe from front to back for that reason.) Anyone can get a urinary tract infection, women just more often.
Poor hygiene is usually the culprit. Hugs and bisous.

I think different from you. Because I only masturbate if I can't find a man to have sex with or if I can't sleep. Furthermore, the anal area and my anus do not use them to stimulate myself and to enjoy. So I don't risk any infections. I always prefer to have sex with at least two.

A simple one is the anus. Any time an anus is involved, you risk urinary tract infections due to the simple fact that E. coli (a harmless strain) live in the intestine and some leave during every shit. E. coli causes UTI more frequently in women (due to having to travel less distance) and infants and the elderly (due to incontinence) but it is a minor concern.
