Exercise and Masturbation

A response to the original Gym Etiquette post brought new information. Something I was not aware of, and didn't think about. Plus, it comes from personal experience and knowledge of the Reader.

"Many reasons why you would find guys jerking off in the change rooms. Apart from it being much easier to get an erection after gym most of them will be doing that to take advantage of the anabolic window to get the muscles into recovery as fast as possible. Jerking off has benefits for that. You will even see a few just tugging away at it but never to ejaculate. That being said the anabolic window is different for every person. It can last upto an hour but its at its peak within the first 10-15mins after gym. Its not always with sexual intent. When younger and doing kickboxing our trainer always did it at the end of the session in the showers and he would encourage us to do the same just clean your mess up. We were the last group for the day and it was his own gym. He was married and his wife was a trainer too for the girls. He would be naked the moment he got in the changeroom. Talked with everyone with how their training was going completely nude, jerk off in the showers then close up for the day. It was awkward at first but after a while we were use to it and some of us would jerk off too. It depends on the environment and the people. - T"

So, the men who work out have either been taught this, or know it instinctually.

The next time you see a guy jacking off at the gym, this may be the reason.

I am always grateful to Readers for sharing their knowledge. Thanks for this, T!

Ohhh
I did not know that. I did know that people get horny after working out (maybe related to what the reader said?) but I did not know of any trainers who would encourage some therapeutic self love.
The more you know...

XOXO

@ Six - One more reason jacking off is good for us. 😊

I am ALWAYS horny after workouts. I knew some of it was from the workout but assumed some was from watching other men working too :). I jerk off in the shower from time to time but since our shower doors are somewhat see through, you can tell if someone is doing that if you look I don't do it often. I wish I had someone to share that with withOUT getting into trouble :). Thanks for the information.

When you have a regular exercise or work out regime I also think I also heard it increase testosterone levels higher too. Which would probably also make a guy hornier.

@ Maddie - Exercise does indeed introduce increased testosterone into the bloodstream. Most men will experience at least a semi during or after a workout, which does translate to horny.

@ Billy - Well, with so many men that do this, it shouldn't really surprise anyone should they see you in there stroking away. You could also turn your back to that frosted-glass doorway.

I didn't know that working out could stimulate erections, but that doesn't strike me as absurd.
Maybe I should try…
One day or another.
Or another day than this other day.

Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

I did yoga for a long time and always got a hard on afterward and had to cum as soon as possible. It was not even nude yoga! Getting back into yoga after a health issue, we’ll see if it happens again. Now I will know why.

I am ready to go workout! : ) Great info. Thanks for all you bring to us. I hope you are doing well, my Dear Friend. Wishing you a bonerific day! Hugs, Licks, and Strokes, AOM

@ Don - Yoga used to give me a semi. I did naked yoga for about 4 years. Only once did I get a full-on boner. Nobody said a word.

All this talk about testosterone and hormones, makes me wonder if I need a boost or something in that department. Since all you guys seem to be getting horny or erect, I'm feeling left out. In my experience exercising always makes me shrink. Never experienced anything else. I think I would need a very strong injection into the penis to stay hard during exercise. Perhaps you should post and disuss in detail how to achieve this.

Its the increased testosterone production from gym. It happens naturally once your muscles are under stress (both male and female). Muscles need testosterone for normal function and repair as well as protein. For an erection your body needs to be producing testosterone. Thats why you will see guys fluffed up a bit or fully erect. Their bodies have produced enough of it for them to get erect.

Where the anabolic window comes in is for the recovery stage of muscle training. Getting the body into recovery as fast as possible is the goal so the muscles begin repairing at their enlarged state and not their relaxed state. You will see them taking protein supplement immediately after gym for that stuff to be at its most effective for what they need. Throw in jerking off as well and its an extra boost of testosterone for the body. Once finished all that testosterone and protein the body has produced will go to the muscles. Its also free.

You do see results from it. Muscle gains are more noticeable from earlier on. Body doesnt ache as much or none at all the next day either.

Shrinkage would be something else. If you are feeling intimidated in that environment your body could be shifting over to 'fight or flight' mode without you realizing what is going on. If its gone for flight your body goes into preservation and minimize any potential damage it may receive. For guys your genitals will retract so they dont get damaged. Body will also start producing more cortisol (the preservation side) which has flow on effects to other areas of the body. Too much cortisol and you gain weight easily as the body shifts to storing whatever you put in it instead of processing it. Cortisol feeds on hormones too (for girls less frequent periods and guys harder to get erect). Wrecks your metabolism and does a number on you mentally.

Testosterone supplements should only be a last resort and only under medical advice from a doctor. Your body can naturally produce it very easily. I would look more at what is happening mentally before and during a workout and work through the feelings. Try meditating to keep a calmer state of mind for 10mins before gym and even work in pilates and yoga to your warm-ups before doing any weights.
