My Usual

The Moderna is what I got. The side effects of dose #1: Sore arm. As time wore on, the whole body started to ache, my lymph nodes became swollen and sore. That's probably a sign that the vaccine is working.

But, I think it's due to the Muscular Dystrophy (MD). My body is constantly fighting off the MD, my white count is always high and the added immune battle against the COVID is just exacerbating my usual achiness.

Anyway, I'm going back to bed. Have a most lovely day. I leave you with some Dancers - all sent to me by French Patrick.

A couple here I think Phil would've loved for the use of light.

I wish for these side effects to wear off within hours. In the meanime, just rest and take good care.

Pat,
Glad to hear you are taking it easy. As you said, these side effects are really just evidence of your body's immune system responding. All good, just uncomfortable. I hope you feel better soon. Beautiful photos by the way.

Great pictures. Hope the negative side effects wear off soon. Rest Well.

Perhaps your antibodies that were fighting your Muscular Dystrophy have partly turned away from their task so as to react to the vaccine?
In any case, I hope you will get everything back to normal as soon as possible.
Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

Beautiful pics. I also received the Moderna vaccine. First one side effect was just a sore arm. Second one though was fever, chills and a headache. Took some ibuprofen for a couple of days and was good. I hope you feel better soon.

whkattk, I'm a teacher so I was near the front of the line.
My first dose had about the same side effects as yours, with the large baseball knot in the arm.
But the second one was harder on me and the group of teachers who got the shot at the same time from my school. 20-24 hours after the second shot it started. Aches and pains like the first only much worse. One teacher said his legs really hurt, others their shoulders and backs. Luckily, the admin knew that a big group of teachers were in the same boat so they let us go home early when we were done with students. Rested the rest of that day and all of the next.
It's like your body is saying, "Damn, I thought I took care of this a month ago, and you're back? OK, here we go, you COVID shit face!!!! I'M COMIN FOR YOU!!"

Rest well, and drink a bunch of liquids. Advil and Tylenol will help too.

Thank God for the vaccine! All the doctors say these vaccines will keep you out of the hospital and off of ventilators. No brainer. Plenty of rest and you'll be good as new in a couple of days. Moderna 2nd dose 28 days from now.

Well, that's one less hurdle.
I've read most times there's a mild reaction, so laying down is probably a good idea.

XOXO

@ Jean - Does that mean you've received your first as well? I hope so! Hugs and bisous.

Feel better soon. So happy for you. Every day... I hope to get a call. And now with Johnson & Johnson out and about... I want it bad! Hee hee. Take care. Lots of fluids.

Whenever I'm in the initial non-symptomatic stages of a viral infection, I get really horny: I think it is because my body thinks I may die and so goes into procreation overdrive. I suspect you might be receiving an equivalent reaction to the Covid vaccine, manifested as erection when you might otherwise not.

The medical authorities never mentioned the possible side effects of the vaccine for people with already activated immune systems and that gives me cause for concern as I am in a similar situation to whkattk.

The other thing to consider is that Covid has mutated into a number of other more infectious strains and I understand the current vaccine is not effective in preventing them.

However, best wishes for a rapid recovery from mild side effects to everyone who takes the vaccine.

Could also just be your MD acting up, unrelated to the shot.
