Why Live in Denial?

So, Moms and Dads, unless you want a son of yours to suffer like the guy I posted about on Saturday, here's the deal: You have a son. He's got a penis. He's got testicles. When he was born you said, "Thank God! Everything is there. It all looks normal.", right?
2
Come on, Dad, you of all people should be able to discuss these things. Teach him.
3
Mom, for crying out loud, calm down - it's only a penis; they're only testicles. You've changed diapers, so it's not like you haven't seen them, washed them.
4
So, now that he's into puberty, why the hedging? Why the avoidance?
5
You really do need to grab your young bull(s) by the balls and tell them what they need to know. You actually may save his life.
6
And you know you will not, cannot, stop the progression of nature. The testosterone is going to flood the body, body hair will sprout, the testicles will get larger and lower, the penis will grow and begin to drive your son(s) to distraction.

8
Once the genie pops up
9

10
and those flood gates open
11
whether it's from a wet dream
12
partner sex
13
jacking off with his buddies

14
or alone
15
there will be no stopping it. Mom and Dad, you both know this - so why live in denial?

Amen and Amen, brother! Why anything that is normal and natural becomes something to shun is what creates problems - open and honest about the normal and natural is always the way to go. Thanks for promoting healthy attitudes. I hope you had a wonderful weekend - you could see I sure did! : ) Wishing you a bonerific day! Hugs, Licks, and Strokes, AOM

Yes, dear Ladies, now that he's into puberty your son will prefer the edging rather than the hedging.
Love and bisous, Pat and Jean.

If you have raised children you are very humble about did you teach/lecture to cover all the bases. The past generation was very shy about everything sexual. I feel for the mother who failed to tell her son of his father's cause of death.

For medical issues, being taken to a doctor doesn't ensure you will get the treatment. I know of two occasions where close male friends/relatives either died or almost died from conditions called to doctors attention and were just dismissed.

The first was a chronic upper back ache that was fatal; ended up as widespread cancer a year after that initial appt. Pancreatic cancer symptom, pain in upper back. Doctor diagnosed as back strain.
A close friend called a spot to their docs attention, at the end of their annual physical, that was overlooked. It was a deadly melanoma. He is lucky he spoke up or he would be dead.

You are always your own best advocate and Pat does a great job of getting all our attention every month. Love and bisous to Pat and Patrick.

@ Jean - A very valuable lesson you've provided for the other readers. How right you are - we must always speak up, don't allow doctors to dictate. Yes, they've been through school, yes, they have experience, but they don't always know for sure, they don't always know what is going on with your body unless you tell them, unless you insist.
