Well made and useful cautionary statement, but the optimal dose could change, our need for estrogen can increase or decrease as we age, if we gain or lose weight, if we have substantially change of our diet or if we start taking other hormones or medications, etc., etc., etc. and son on.
Therefore, my humble conclusion is that we should make nothing without the opinion of a competent doctor for ensuring this work of tightrope walker under the best possible conditions of safety.

Well dear man, much as I enjoy your blog and all those delicious images of boners, I have to state strong disagreement with all of what you claim regarding "eostrogen-inducing" foods having a negative effect on said boners. At least from my personal experience.. can't speak from a scientific knowledge.
I'm a vegetarian of some 35 years. OK, I eat fish because I need to. But sesame and sunflower seeds ARE part of my staple diet, likewise all soya product, legumes, green peas, black beans, hummus.. all the things you say to stay away from. Of course I do eat loads of cauliflower and broccoli as well.. so who knows? But certainly no erectile dysfunction, no shrinking testicles, no failing libido... just ask my 43 yr old lover! (I'm 63) Sure I don't get as hard or as often as when I was 23, but I'm OK with that.
@ Jeffrey - The information on the amounts of, and effects on men from Estrogen in foods has all been gathered from medical sites. I don't think they are claiming that these foods will have a 100% negative effect on all men - particularly once past the stages of puberty. I think a lot depends upon the levels of Testosterone a man's testicles produce.
The medical community has long suspected that ingestion of Estrogen-high foods have caused the increase in men developing breasts and the increase in the the incidence of breast cancer in men.
As French Patrick has been commenting on each post, it is important to get T levels checked, and if there is an issue with boners ask for estrogen levels to be checked as well. That's sound advice!
Well you've inspired me to read more on the subject as its something I'd not considered at all. And some of the literature is telling me that too low levels of estrogen can contribute to the possibility of vascular disease, loss of bone density and cognitive function. That men should maintain a level of estrogen above 20pg/mL but below 30pg/mL. Shall keep reading, and probably get a test next time I do bloods.
