Lovely, Slick Elixir

A reader, in response to yesterday's post, asks:

"How about the precum? My precum is very little occasionally just one or two drops. is there a way to have them more?"

Sadly, not that I've ever been able to find. Some men's Cowper glands, the two tiny glands adjacent to the prostate which are responsible for producing pre-ejaculate, or pre-cum, are very tiny indeed.

Some men don't produce any at all.

This lovely, slick elixir does a couple of things: reduces acidity in the urethra left behind by urine, and lubricates it to provide smoother passage of semen.

During intercourse, it can also help safeguard our swimmers within the vagina. I wonder if fertility specialists have thought about this....
7
And, of course, it acts as a natural lubricant to reduce friction.

There is no doubt that guys who produce little to none would appreciate a means of increasing the amount of pre-cum.

Anyone have any info on this?

One should lubrificate his dick very well before penetration!

Sorry! No info! But I always produced plenty. It could be a problem with spontaneous erections and that damp patch on one's pants!!!!!

I quoote the Dr. Srikanth Reddy:
"I am sorry to say, but there is no way we can increase the quantity of precum. There are some traditional therapies like Tentex Forte available which claim to increase the pre-cum as well but the patients have never noticed any benefit by that.
Many people equate the quantity of precum with the vitality and sexual satisfaction, which is not so. Ones there is sufficient lubrication from the vagina, the purpose of precum becomes nil.
Understand that the purpose of the precum is to lubricate the vagina which is even done by the vaginal secretion. So even if your precum is less then the same can be taken care of the vaginal lubrication and if necessary artificial lubricants can also be applied.
If you are using a condom then lubricated condoms are available and as such there is no access to the precum.
"

Conclusion: We cannot increase the quantity of precum, and it's absolutely not a problem. Choosing to do nothing remains the best choice. We have only to cease worrying about this false problem.

Love, hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.

Does age have anything to do with it? I guess on the other side, are there guys who have too much? Could meds affect it, like dry mouth? OK don't laugh. Hugs and be bisous dear French Patrick.

No info, but my experience is that it takes 10 minutes of multi-orgasmic masturbation for my pre-come to start to flow in large enough quantities to taste- and the taste is pleasantly salty and earthy. Also very few men produce enough to provide much lubrication, and they find this is a problem more than a solution because of the mess.

About 30 years ago went to talk on pre-come at the Fenway research clinic that was in the forefront of trying to figure out how HIV was transmitted. One of their researchers had a pre-come project to see if there was virus in pre-come. (He found some infected white blood cells - probably picked up along the way in the urethra.) It was very difficult to collect and work with - a combination of being very slippery and very clingy and his description of the research challenges was quite amusing! Basically he had volunteers masturbate while he tried to collect specimens and transfer them to test tubes.

@ Jean - I don't think age affects it at all. Meds can dry it up - just as it does any other mucous membrane secretions. But, sadly, we've got nothing to assist in the production.

Drink plenty of fluids. Also, be aware that some psych meds may reduce both precum and ejaculate volume.
