You are right, at Blogger the interesting thing is the number of blog views. For instance I follow you with Google Friend Connect but I never consult it, I always come here.
I do not know if it is funny or cynical, more probably cynical, but when they say that this change will improve the experience for you and your readers, I do wonder how. I think that if this was true they would have explained why that will be better. At least one or two examples.
