Straight | Gay: Porn and Relationships

A very eclectic mix of comments to yesterday's post.
Faithful Reader Jean brings up a great topic.

While some women (like Jean) wouldn't take issue with their man engaging in a stroke session with other guys,

When it comes to finding he jacks off while surfing porn, it bothers them

because their thought is, "What does she have that I don't?"

I think I can answer for the Straight dudes... Most men seem to need more variety than women; all men are visually stimulated. In all honesty, the answer would be: "The only thing she's got is that she's different, something new."

Her question then is: "Gay men are an interesting dynamic. How do they react if they find their partner with videos or magazines of other men?"

Mind if I join in? Of course the answer is always YES! Masturbation is literally getting in touch with ourselves - a most important part of our sexuality - and for me very different from making love with my partner. It is the time I make love with myself. Porn is just a stimulus and has no element of reality - just fantasy. That's how I see it. Thanks for another wonderful post, brother. Wishing you a delicious jizztastic day! Hugs, Licks, and Strokes, AOM

My friend and I often watched gay porn together! It often led to a very hot love making session. After his death, another guy used to come to see me regularly. We always started by watching porn before retiring to the bedroom. Watching porn together like that can enhance ones sex together. Thanks for your visits. Have a restful weekend!

No more reason for being jealous that if one admired The Aphrodite of Milos, (better known as the Venus de Milo) or The Origin of the World in a museum.
Dear Jean, how can you doubt that our interest is purely artistic?
By deepening the question, we can think that it is the male ancestral instinct which wanted that the fact to have a harem was an outward sign of power, wealth and virility.
But it is within the area of the imagination, of the dream, of the fantasy.
Would you want to be a fantasy? An illusory likeness? A creation of the imagination?
The question ""What does she have that I don't?" has no reason to be asked, unless you think that your "lover" doesn't love you, that he is with you only for emptying his balls with no more feelings than if you were an inflatable doll.
I hope for you that the answer is "obviously not" and that he will go on loving you even if you become older, less beautiful or other uncreadible things.
If you think that by wanking on porn he makes a big fault by cheating you and by betraying you in a disgusting way, please notice that he does the thousands times more the same thing as regards all the porn actors by moving from one to the next one while you are his point of mooring.

I wish you a wondrous day to you two, my dear friends, with a lot of bisous.

Speaking for myself, I have never gotten upset when I found porn or caught my partner when in a relationship, jacking off. I usually end up joining in most times. The guy in dating now was here for new years. We hot frisky in the night and decided to run one off. Unbeknownst to us one of my other guest was peering in, so we called him to join in. He a voyeur as it is. And my ex of years was the same. We never had issue with jacking off alone or being caught...and,again, the other always joined in.

As a gay man who is now married to a gay man (with whom I've been in a relationship for 13 plus years), my thought would be, "Hmmmmmm.....wonder if there's anything there that I'll like". And then I'd probably ask if he minded a little company. While I can't speak for my husband, I can say that it doesn't make me jealous or cause any doubts or questions of "what do they have that I don't". I love my husband and I know that he loves me. We've been together for this long. I think it's safe to say we're in it for the long haul. I do agree with your observation of "variety", though. I think that's what it boils down to for *most* men regardless of orientation.

No jealousy here.

He knows I do it, I know he does it; sometimes we do it together. If one of us is not in the mood, then we leave the other one to enjoy himself. That's how it works at my house, anyway.

It's probably a given that the baby boomers got little information from their parents but would be interesting to know how they have handled it themselves. They were part of the big "Sexual Revolution" and free-love society.

From the pics here of fairly young men, it seems when discovered, they are often pulling up pants and looking a little shameful. Maybe nothing has changed. Lucky for them if they find this Blog.

I think my partner and I are both a bit embarrassed when we get "caught" watching porn. Because we are in an intergenerational relationship, and are turned on by each other but not guys of our own age, the other guy's porn usually doesn't work for us, so we don't join in watching. Often he'll put his porn aside so I can suck and jack his cock, but it doesn't often happen the other way around. We've been together long enough (8 years) the the sight of each other's cock doesn't always make us horny, so sometimes we'll just leave the other guy to his activities. Almost always we start masturbating when we have privacy. I think he uses porn much more that I do. I tend to get caught when I'm not using porn - that happens mostly when he's away and I am horny. (And I just got "caught" now writing this comment!)

The bottom line is that it's complicated. We both encourage each other to be sexual, and porn is part of that, but it seems to work best for us when we aren't together.
