What Month Is It?
Good morning.
Yes, it's that day of the month.
BUDDY BALL CHECK
And first thing in the morning when The Boys are nice and warm and hanging is a good time for that inspection.
If you search the internet for Cause Awareness issues, you'll find a plethora of things listed for each month. For October, the most well-known is Breast Cancer Awareness, the second is Domestic Violence Awareness.
Contrary to popular belief --- and articles touting the awareness of those two issues --- men can be and are victims of both.
So, while you do your Ball Check this month, check your pecs, boys.
And, if you are, or someone you know is, a victim of domestic abuse --- which includes sexual abuse, btw --- there is help.
Call the Domestic Violence Hotline: 800-799-7233 or
TEXT the word BEGIN to 88788 or
log onto the website for a live CHAT.

Balls, Pecs, & Funnies
was
BUDDY BALL CHECK
I hope everyone did their TSE, and then reminded others to do the same.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
it's equally important to remind everyone that men can and do get breast cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
"About 1 out every 100 breast cancer diagnosed in the U.S. is found in a man. The most common are:
- Invasive ductal carcinoma. The cancer cells begin in the ducts and then grow outside the ducts into other parts of the breast tissue. Invasive cancer cells can also spread, or metastasize, to other parts of the body.
- Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is a breast disease that may lead to invasive breast cancer. The cancer cells are only in the lining of the ducts, and have not spread to other tissues in the breast. "
As humans, it's a fact that we take more notice of that which directly affects us. I lost a friend to Testicular Cancer. He was only 52. And an acquaintance in the theatre circles died from Breast Cancer - he was in his early 50s and so embarrassed by the disease no one knew until his wife announced it after his death. I wonder how many lives he may have saved if he'd had the balls to go public?
Now, on to the Monday Funnies.
Have a happy day.
