Be Realistic

Did you ever wonder how stars attain those 8-pack abs? This is from a friend of mine who is a show runner for movies and TV.

It's what a good percentage of porn stars do, too.

It's serious stuff. Not for the faint-of-heart. But it's also why so many people are conned into thinking they need to look like the characters or porn actors in order to be "hot."

"Cutting weight" refers to the practice of intentionally losing weight in preparation for a competition or event. When someone says they are in a “cutting phase” of training, this often refers to a phase of training that requires specific nutritional and exercise interventions that will result in maximizing muscle mass, while also decreasing body fat."

According to Healthline, "A cutting diet involves calculating your calorie, protein, fat, and carb needs to reduce body fat and maintain muscle mass. It should be paired with weightlifting and is usually followed before an athletic event or competition."

The average guy does not have a body like that, and we should all learn to be realistic.

Oh yes.
I have heard of this. A friend who was a model, told me he always did all kinds of crazy things before a runway show. Movie stars I guess are much more under a magnifying glass, with a HD camera on their bodies all the time.
Really.

XOXO

I like the shot where the guys dive forward and midair before they find themselves confined to this vehicle.

Hugs and bisous, my darlings Jean and Pat.
Have a great day.

It is a shame that men don't think they have sexual value unless they have that unattainable perfect body. Good sex is more than looks. Even though Maximus is great looking, it is his personality that really turns me on. Even in the dark when I can't see his body, his personality shines through. Am thankful he loves me for the person I am inside. Looks can easily fade, but there are more things to one than the eye sees.

And then there are the body expectations for women... So we have a lot of the same issues. Just stay healthy, get some exercise, eat and drink in moderation. And plenty of hugs and bisous.

@ Jean - We do, only some don't accept that reality. Hugs and bisous!

Ah, yes! The Avengers! Hard to make a love handle from the whole group! There are several droolable scenes-- "Thor" poured into a pair of jeans; Dead Pool peeling off a t-shirt... *sigh* Sad to learn these are just temporary droolables!

We should remember that those perfect appealing bodies are only temporary and require a huge investment just to attain and maintain for that short time period: they are not sustainable and consequently unsuitable for any extended relationship that relies on them.

Just stay healthy doesn't work either, because health has now been equated to that perfect state of being, even though it is temporary, when health is a lifetime thing.

If you can't sustain something, its not healthy.

Whilst it is true that external appearance has a big impact on superficial attraction, our actual enjoyment of pleasure is a result of more than one sense and those who are visually challenged do not experience less pleasure simply because they can't see those external characteristics. We can find pleasure in much more than what we see.

Your right...we all need to wake up and be realistic. It's to the point where guys don't even talk to others unless they are perfect tens. I see it all the time at gay locations and bars. Why not talk to all, just based on looks? Unless they only rely on sleeping with everyone they meet.

What is moderation? Nature is fundamentally opportunistic because needs are not necessarily fulfilled on a regular basis. The fact that humans have awareness and a varying ability to moderate primitive impulses doesn't mean there isn't animalistic opportunism operating in the background that has to be grappled with constantly, with moderation always running second.

@ Hooter - how do you know you are not biased by having already seen Maximus: your attraction to his personality is not the only attraction present in your mind, even when you can't see him, as you can remember and activate those pleasurable pathways.

One thing that is becoming more obvious to me with orgasms is that they rely on an initial experience that is equated to pleasure and then that memory self-reinforcing subsequent experiences. It's why the guys at Aneros forum talk about A-less orgasms, or orgasms triggered mainly by remembering the pleasant sensations of previous prostate stimulation experiences and mentally building it up until the orgasmic threshold is exceeded. An orgasm occurs in the brain, not in the originating sense organ. It's why people with spinal damage can sometimes educate another part of the body to provide the sensations required to trigger the brains memory of what led to an orgasm before.

If one has never experienced an orgasm before though, it makes it difficult for the brain to remember and recreate the process.

I grew up with an older brother - a wrestler - and it was brutal. And he was terrible to be around when he was trying to maintain his weight class. No wonder they're all nuts. Give me a nice average man any time. At least they can hold a conversation.

I think my array of tastes in men is wide enough (cf. the ones I post on my blog). But let’s not forget about those who happen to have if not a 6 pack but a flat yet muscular belly, even past their 50.
Pitt or Tatum may have had to go through such a diet for filming purpose, but please let’s not forget that many men with « good shape appearance » are just not gym-addicts, but only men living with what Mother Nature provided them with - I speak from experience, at 58 I have to explain what diet I’m on for not having fat rolls and whan I answer none I’m getting the suspicious look...
In other terms, one should be able to differenciate in a bar two apparently gym-queens, only by their look in return. Like Maddie wrote:
Gym-Queen A: condescending look - he’ll end-up at best in a sling, otherwise flirting with his dildo;
'Shaped' guy B: open look, ready to engage for a talk - donnot be shy, go for it - at minimum you’ll get a conversation, at best who knows?
For the several months I have been working in the company I am with I’ve been dealing with several ambiguous approaches from both male and female colleagues. Yet I am not the « Brad Pitt » type. But experience taught me that being yourself, rather than trying to appear as who you are not, leads to better relationships.
I guess my point is: better than trying to mimicking a figure, show yourself for the best you can be. That’s hard work enough, isn’t it? :-))

Once again, you hit the nail on the head with the 'Be Realistic' post. For years, men (and particularly gay men) are taught by media and porn that the perfect male physique is the norm. What bullshit!

As a gay man on the cusp of 70 years old, I'm adapting to my 'dad bod' whether I like it or not! At least my hubby never complains and sex it still as satisfying as we are willing to make it!

I'm a huge fan of 'Whack Attack'. Thanks for everything you do.

We are only showed perfect bodies. We are almost never shown naked handicaped men or ones with visible scars. I have a large scar because of a ruptured appendices operation. Am thankful that it doesn’t bother Maximus. It doesn’t bother me to be nude around others. Had a friend with a small raised appendices scar that he had tattooed the shaft of an arrow over it pointing toward his dick. The scar disappeared. That would not work for me. We need to recognize that handicapped people are sexual beings also. What about nude people without limbs or with artificial limbs? Let them have their time in the limelight. We shouldn’t shame them. - Hooter
