Question / Midweek Mirth

Morning

According to surveys, data shows that collections of short stories don't sell. Unless, of course, it's a Stephen King collection. That seems odd to me considering that studies also show that attention spans have dwindled to click bait featuring short TikTok videos and Instagram photos.

What's your take? Short stories or not?

Any particular reason for your preference?

Here's the Midweek Mirth

I prefer short stories because of my poor memory retention. Thanks for the laughs.

I prefer both formats. Though I'd admit it been an at a since I read a collection of short stories.

And what is so sexy about watching a guy walk around with a stiff dick? That first guy is hot!!!!

Definitely books, and preferably books that are part of a many-book series.
So Hu must be on First. 😅🤣😂. Hugs and bisous.

Short stories for me, don't necessarily have the time and as long as the short story is well written/done, it does the job. Thanks for the mid week laughs, needed them today! Hugs.

Kind of sad, but facts are facts.

We both prefer books and short stories. We still have a newspaper delivered. You can lean back and get comfortable with a book, you have to lean forward to read from a screen.

Idunno? I subscribe to "The Atlantic" and "The New Yorker"; but... when the good FUCK do I have time to SIT and READ... clarification... SIT and READ and STAY AWAKE? Love both - no matter when I start into an article, I am out like a light within three paragraphs. I give myself until the NEXT edition shows up - if I have not finished an article, it goes into the recycle bin. Not enough room in the house to stockpile periodicals that "I'll get back to them!".

Back in my single days, I had a stockpile of those pocket porn fiction mini-mags, "Honcho", "Locker Room Tales", etc. NEVER had a problem getting through a couple of those short stories before going to sleep.

Good memories.

Good chuckles! I got dem flabby boobs!

I never realized it until I read your comment. It's true --- I lean forward to read from a screen.

Those periodicals were why we stayed UP. They helped us get to sleep. LOL.
