Morning
I know most of you don't care about the awards shows.... We find the Oscars and Tonys to be the only "Must See." This was the worst In Memoriam the Tony telecast has ever done. Not to mention that Best Revival of a Musical went to Ragtime instead of Cats: The Jellicle Ball, and the Best New Musical went to...ugh, Schmigadoon. It will fade out as quickly as Shuck'd from last year. I want to know what that voting block was thinking.
Anyone?

And old Mercury! That takes me back! The first car I ever bought myself was a 1974 Monterrey Coupe (3rd hand)! Also lucky if I got above 3mpg!
Good chuckles and I did a screen-scrape of your #1 photo (torso and coffee cup - can't use the dick shots on my site).

Your right I don't watch award show, but was actually very shocked that Cats II Jellicle Ball didn't win. I saw that and thought it was incredible. Talk about fresh and a great energic concept. So many of the shows these days are a sorry stretch for a musical. I mean Legally Blonde the Musical??? To many redo's and it seems every movie now has to have a musical. Are they out of ideas? Where are the new Hammerstein's, Cowards, Webbers and Sondheims? Oh Mary was one of the freshest things to hit in ages. And another one is queen Jinkx Monsoon who has opened in At The End of the Rainbow where she is portraying Judy Garland. This one will be one to watch out for. It's it already getting rave reviews and is starting in London's version of Broadway theatre scene.
Ohh I forgot about the Tonys.
And I was with a gaggle of gays all weekend!! Fail.
XOXO
I can relate to the chart comparing youth and age.
Watched the DVR recording of the Tony's. I >LOVE< Pink!. She was awesome! The show was.. okay. A lot of stuff I have not heard of, but seeing Laurie Metcalf win for "Death of a salesman" was great. A lot of fun stuff, but... agree - done with revivals.
I was trying to place Leslie Odom, Jr. He was in "Hamilton", another musical that... just didn't click for me.
No comment on the Tony's however, love the Dickhead meme, I need to get me one of those signs.
I have to go for the “smoking versus non-smoking”. LOL
GO KNICKS. Booooooooo you know who. Hugs and bisous.
My first was '65 Pontiac Le Mans convertible.
Jinx is doing an excellent job with that.
Oh, how I wish new stuff could get to the stages. The process is brutal and extremely expensive. There are Gatekeepers galore.
Oh, wow.... WTH?
XOXO
Me, too, Rick. Me, too.
I thought Hamilton was okay --- better than I expected. It seems "...Salesman" comes back every 5 years with yet another famous actor determined to do the role. It's as bad as "Gypsy" every 10 years, Enough, already.
I'd love to have that one pasted on my front door.
And, woooowheeee!!! did he get booed. LOL.
Hugs and bisous.
I agree about the In Memoriam at the Tony's. What were they thinking keeping the camera on Leslie Odom, Jr. for a huge chunk of it?? I also agree about Schmigadoon. I disagree, though, about Ragtime. I was very upset about The Lion King beating Ragtime for best musical back in 1998, and Ragtime's first revival didn't win either, so I'm very glad it finally got the Tony recognition I believe it deserves. Jellicle Ball, while having a fresh take on the show, still feels like something of a gimmick to me, and Ragtime, despite it being almost 30 years after the original production and 120 years since the events it depicts, is important to take note of since it is still (sadly) very relevant to where we are as a nation today.
That dashboard reminds me of a 1979 Lincoln sedan a sugar daddy owned when driving me up to Palm Springs and down to Laguna and Del Mar for fun times. The back seat was perfect for sugar daddy to give me a quick fuck :)
