Most Banned

Morning

It's Banned Books Week.

Censorship is very much alive and well in this country. And Apple just took another big bite out of the Freedom of Speech belt.

The most banned titles included “A Clockwork Orange” and “Wicked,” while the most banned authors included Stephen King, Sarah J. Maas and Jodi Picoult. More than 80% of all bans originated in just three states: Florida, Texas and Tennessee.

According to many accounts, Stephen King is the most-banned author of all time.

The most banned books of 24-25

Fight the bans.

Buy a book.

Wicked? This band crap is getting out of control. And these days you better watch who you support and where you spend your money. These products that are supporting the Trump Administration are putting Targets on their back. Look how Tesla drivers are treated now, and soon it would appear Apple users might face the same.

First they ban books, then they burn them !
Next they ban people, then they burn them :(
Straight out of the Nazi playbook.

Yay!
My public library branch makes a special showcase for them. I usually take at least five out to re-read. And guess what? They are all usually gone for the week!
People ARE reading them!

XOXO

So very sad, America the great, self proclaimed, greatest country in the world, yet so many are afraid, closed mined and ignorant.

I was the youngest in my classes in 3rd and 4th grade elementary school and still enjoying Freddy the Pig stories. When we were assigned George Orwell's "Animal Farm" to read, I thought that it should be banned, at least for children, because it cast pigs as villains. According to the Internet, some non USA countries ban the book because it depicts alcohol drinking.

It's the "dumbing down" of the population - just like they've planned and been working toward for 40 years.

I think you're right!

Just think of Project 2025 and you have the recipe for going back decades in USA.

whkattk said...

True. Maybe instead of a book, more people should download and read that!

There are multiple reasons for banning books: alcohol, sex, ethnicity, violence, etc, etc, etc.
