"Should prostitution be made legal, for males and females?"
My answer would be a resounding "yes." In fact, with the exception of two counties, it is legal in this state. 'Course, that doesn't stop it from being a very lucrative business elsewhere. Which is rather my point.
It's really no different than any other business. It's a service being offered. There are people who want to buy the service. It's that simple.
Of course, it's not good when human trafficking gets a piece of the industry. And I wonder if making prostitution legal would curtail the trafficking? Maybe only to a degree, because there would always be those whose penchant for the illegal end of things would still be "underground." And we know the people I'm talking about: <cough>The Epstein Class<cough>.
Plus, porn actors get paid for sex.
Is there a difference?

It's just like anything else....weed....drinking...sex. they can make it illegal...but where there is a will there is a way. People will still do it and find a way. There is no difference then hooking up on a site for sex or paying a prostitute. Then end results will still be the same.

Rade, I believe you've hit on the incels' central problem -- entitlement without effort. I'd bet the vast majority expect sex to be gratis because they consider themselves as attractive/worthy as (or waaay more attractive/worthy than) guys who have grown a spine, a personality, or a smokin' physique -- whereas they peaked in high school and haven't developed further in any way.
re: people stranded on aircraft carriers who haven't been home in a long time.... Would 'comfort people' on board the ship solve some of the problems of 'cabin fever?' Or relaxing the rules that say sailors are men-- MANLY men-- with high testosterone levels... and allow buddies to take care of each other with no black marks on their records? Circle Jerks with a group of buddies, and no chastising the buddies who have knee pads!

The crazy thing is that men pay for sex whether it is with a prostitute or a wife: they are both transactions, except the prostitute is not going to take more than half your assets, demand you pay exorbitant child care that supports her too for 18 years, not give you access to sex again, or even much access to your children, once you have had sex.
More than 50% of marriages end in divorce, with women initiating more than 70% of the time.
It's a deterrent that doesn't have to deter every attempt to be effective. Only some will be wealthy enough or brave enough to risk imprisonment and destruction of the rest of their life over sex with a woman.
Men are being punished with the destruction of their lives on false Domestic Violence accusations in Family Courts, because they don't abide by criminal due process when divorcing men. Even a false rape accusation can destroy a man.
Prostitution will become illegal: women have simply too much power now to stop them from punishing all men for perceived historical and current grievances. Retrospective rape is now a possibility, where a women regrets the sex she had or is convinced by others that it wasn't consensual and seeks vengeance, where a man is more likely to put it down to win some, lose some.
According to women, it is, because it is exploiting women (who are being forced to sell themselves in order to gain financial security).
Prostitution, sure. Just protect the prostitutes from harm.
It is the same principle as the ban on drinking alcohol in public —religion.
