Morning
"Why can my cock bend and change angles at the base but not along the shaft when I have a boner?"
Now this is a bit of a challenge to explain, but I'll try.
The reason an erection can easily bend at the entrance to the abdomen (the base) but remains completely unyielding along the shaft comes down to how it attaches to your skeleton as opposed to how hydraulic pressure is contained.
Think of your boner like a tightly inflated long balloon. If you try to bend the middle of the balloon, it resists completely because the air pressure pushes outward against the rubber. However, you can easily swing or angle the entire inflated balloon from the knot where it is tied. The base of the cock functions exactly like that knot.
- The Tunica Albuginea's Role: This ultra-tough, thick outer membrane acts like the rigid wall of a tire. It prevents the expanding spongy tissue from bulging outward. [1]
- Rigidity Constraint: Because the fluid is trapped tightly under this non-yielding sheath, the shaft becomes a solid, cohesive cylinder. Bending
- the shaft itself requires tearing or rupturing this high-pressure membrane, which is a severe medical emergency known as a penile fracture.
- . The Base Acts as a Dynamic, Flexible Hinge
- The Suspensory Ligament "Sling": The penis is not welded to the pubic bone with a fixed skeletal joint. Instead, it is suspended by the suspensory ligament, which acts like a flexible bungee cord or sling. This allows the root of the erect penis to pivot up, down, and side-to-side, even while the shaft remains perfectly stiff.
- The "V-Shape" Root Separation: Right at the entrance to the abdomen, the two corpora cavernosa chambers split apart into a wide "V" shape (the crura) to anchor onto the pelvic bones. This split creates a natural mechanical pivot point right at the junction where they converge to form the shaft.
- Pelvic Floor Muscle Control: The base is surrounded by muscles like the ischiocavernosus. These muscles can contract to tighten the base and bounce or lift the penis, but because they only wrap around the root, they do not restrict the outer manual movement of the base.

Yep.
Pretty cool.
XOXO
I'd say you explained it very well. Just why someone was wondering this ...this has never crossed my mind.
Interesting' Something I didn't know I needed to know. My girthy 7-incher is as straight as a poker. And just as hard. I keep asking myself..when will it end. Now there's a topic for you. How many 86 year old men are as hard as when they were kids?
Have a good weekend! Hugs and bisous.
Luv the cock anatomy lesson :-)

I'm always amazed at the design of mens genitalia, especially the "grow-ers" who can almost triple their length when erect, versus the "show-ers" who may only expand by 50% (although admittedly the "show-ers" look impressive in both states).
Women also have that V shaped internal structure, which in their case I believe is stimulated through vaginal penetration pushing outward against them to augment other stimulation. I'm also sure I have read somewhere that men can obtain something of that effect by gently compressing the shaft from both sides, in and out, rhythmically, near the external root of the penis, whilst also stimulating the glans (because that V structure, the crura penis, continues to become the 2 halves of the corposa cavernosum) in a kind of inverted situation to women.
It's an engineering marvel.
I'd say. Thanks for that, always so educational, and the pics don't hurt one bit.
Even after the amount of time I've devoted to caring for it, loving it and keeping it happy, every day is still a school day. Thanks.
Thanks. I know porn is just porn but, in view of the anatomy lesson, how do they make the piledriver position work? I've never been able to bend mine far enough.
