Check Under the Hood

Here is the comment from a reader.

"I love that you remind us all November to get the boys checked out. I did and all is well. But as a suggestion, how about a series on the importance of a foreskin check so those of us who still have one? I had a friend whose foreskin was tight and neither he nor I knew anything about loosening it up, or about checking under it. Mine is loose enough to pull back and keep clean.
I know most of us are circumcised here in the US, so it’s not a big deal, but it’s still a “men’s health issue”." - Anonymous

Phimosis is a foreskin condition wherein it is too tight to retract from the head. The problem is caused by the Phimotic Ring, also called preputial sphincter, a band of tissue which helps the foreskin close over the head.

If this ring is too tight, it can cause hygiene problems. Men should peel the foreskin back and thoroughly wash the area to avoid the buildup of oils, urine, and pre-ejaculate. You need to regularly check under the hood. If these natural body fluids are left the resultant odors aren't pleasant. Infection may set in if left completely unattended. It can make urination difficult.
"Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back past the glans.[3] A balloon-like swelling under the foreskin may occur with urination.[3] In teenagers and adults, it may result in pain during an erection, but is otherwise not painful.[3] Those affected are at greater risk of inflammation of the glans, known as balanitis, and other complications.[3]" -  Wikipedia
Newborns may have the condition naturally, though it typically resolves itself by age three. "Efforts to pull back the foreskin during the early years of a young male's life should not be attempted.[4] For those in whom the condition does not improve further time can be given or a steroid cream may be used to attempt to loosen the tight skin.[4] If this method, combined with stretching exercises, is not effective, then other treatments such as circumcision may be recommended.[4]" - Wikipedia

There is also a condition called paraphimosis where the ring gets trapped along the shaft. The same steroid cream and stretching may resolve the problem. In severe cases, circumcision may (again) be recommended.

If you have either of these conditions, you should make an appointment with a urologist to resolve it.
Love your cock and it will love you.

End Game

"Oh, boy, do I hope you can help me. My husband has a foreskin and has a problem with retracting it. He doesn't seem to think it's a problem. He says it doesn't hurt, he can pee without skinning it back, and he sure can cum. But I have to tell you when he wants me to suck him the smell is getting pretty rank. Its to a point that all he needs to do is take off his pants and I can smell it. That turns me right off and I admit I avoid sex as much as possible. I've tried to tell him to stick a finger between the head and skin when he showers, but he says he can't do that anymore because its too tight. I can promise you if my vagina smelled like that he'd avoid me too."

He's headed toward severe Phimosis - the Phimotic Ring - the "elastic band" within the foreskin - is tightening up. There's a cure for that. A quick trip to the doctor for a steroid cream is all that's needed to loosen the band.

It may take some time, but it would be better than circumcision.
If the cream doesn't work, then there is what is known as a "partial circumcision" wherein only the Phimotic Ring itself is removed. This option leaves the foreskin loose, requiring manual manipulation to retract, and to replace over the glans.

However, the immediate issue is that he's not cleaning himself. It's not only gross, he's not doing himself any favors. In the long run what is collecting under there (called Smegma) will eventually begin to have an negative affect on the head of his cock. Tell him to stand in the shower, and use a couple drops of shampoo (or shower gel) and try getting a q-tip in there. He must make sure he rinses thoroughly, though. He doesn't want to leave soap under there any more than he wants the Smegma.

But, the end game...he needs to go see his doctor.
The sooner the better. He'll be glad he did.

Cut Cock Makes News (Again)

Circumcision is in the news again. It seems the debate never ends. But, whether you are in favor of it or against it, there are instances when it is medically necessary. And, as illustrated in this article sent to us by Faithful Reader Glenn, it should not take a judge's court order to make it happen.

I may be out of line here, but the photo that accompanies this one bugs me. Just as it bothers me when I see men protesting abortion, it riles me to see women protesting and railing against circumcision - particularly when it has been determined a medical necessity exists.

The second article is brought to my attention by my novelist buddy, who did tons of research while he wrote his two act play, Phallusies. Again, the procedure is caused by a medical issue. Yet, this article focuses on the CDC and those who vehemently oppose the guidelines which were issued this past December.

As one Urologist indicates, 90% of these procedures he performs are due to medical issues, the other 10% are for aesthetics.

Both patients require(d) the slicing because of Phimosis - a condition where the foreskin will not retract from the head to piss
 Or for a boner
Paraphimosis is a condition where the foreskin will not slide back into place over the head.

The foreskin should easily slide back from the head of the cock to piss.
Not doing so can lead to serious infection (not to mention it's lazy)
The foreskin should also fully retract for boners. Yes, some guys have very long foreskins which don't leave the head fully exposed,

but the skin can be easily slid back to expose the head.
