He shaves his cock for you. Yes, you read it right. He does that for your benefit. The old adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words" should help you understand what I mean.
I imagine that would be quite the irritant, no matter how much lube was used to mitigate it.

Be prepared to have this ongoing chore. Some folks get rashes from shaving and ingrown hair. Sometimes just a minimum trim can work too. That's why a lot of guys wear a trimmed beard.

84 degrees seems a decent temp until you add humidity at 80%. Tonight our temp "feels like" 96 according the the weather folks.

Side effects of shaving down there are almost endless, & for some people it's just not worthy doin' it: redness, irritation, burns, cuts, ingrown hairs, not looking like a real man but a boy or even a woman, etc. 🤷♂️
The hygiene part is all you, if something's not right down there, hairs or no hairs... It's probably you who didn't have the right approach.
So, better know what you're doing if you're gonna do it & with what you're going to do it. You don't wanna end up in the emergency room & in a lot of pain, do ya? 😉

Guys do it for two major reasons: First, it makes blowjobs nicer. Secondly, it's cooler.
There are also cultural reasons. Like I'm Lakota, so besides having less body hair, what does exist is to be removed.
One more thing I must mention: Circumcision typically makes the groom skin (with its hair) go further up the shaft.
All that said, an insistence you shave is supposed to be the pedo thing, since a shaved adult penis and scrotum still look nothing like a child's, but to an untrained eye, the vulva might.
