Edging and Blue Balls

"My nuts ached so bad I actually went the er only to be told it was a simple case of blue balls. The doctor told me to go home and jack off and don't wait so long between ejaculations. I like to edge because it gives me better orgasms. Is there a way to do that without my nuts aching?"

Blue Balls, or Epidydimal Hypertension, is a build-up of blood in the testicles caused by long periods of arousal without having an orgasm. It causes the balls to ache and a blue tint. Thus the name. According to the article "Edging: Definition, Benefits, and More" at Medical News Today:

"Edging is unlikely to have harmful side effects and will not cause any ejaculation problems. Edging rarely leads to epididymal hypertension, or 'blue balls.'"

It could be that you're causing slight testicular trauma by stroking so vigorously that your balls get bounced around and jostled a bit too much. Slow down the pounding a bit.

Their further article "Everything You Need to Know About Edging" over at Medical News Today indicates it can actually provide some benefit.

"Edging involves sexual stimulation and stopping just before the point of orgasm. Edging aims to extend a person’s sexual enjoyment for longer periods. It may also intensify the experience. It is possible to perform edging alone or with others. Anyone might engage in edging, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. It involves stimulation to the point, or edge, of orgasm. People will stop just before the edge and take a small break from stimulation. Edging can involve repeating this cycle several times. Both males and females might use edging as a way to avoid premature ejaculation."

If you enjoy edging but the prolonged arousal is causing your balls to ache, might I suggest employing your morning wood for that? Keep up the stimulation throughout your morning routine, right up to the point of pulling on your briefs. But don't cum.

Then use your evening time in much the same fashion by working up and enjoying a good strong boner but then allowing yourself to cum just before you sleep. It should result in the kind of explosive ejaculations you're seeking.

And bonus: It'll help you sleep better.

Over-the-Shoulder Shots

The other day, Faithful Reader PaulMmn left a comment asking how some guys manage those over-the-shoulder shots. I left a pretty short answer and it deserves to be expounded.
"And how do guys build up enough pressure for a 'fountain of youth' that launches far enough to paint the wallpaper behind their heads? I think I got in the wrong line that day! --PaulMmn"
Many years ago, before Men's Health magazine lost its way and began to focus on nutrition and exercise and advertising, it started as a 4-page, shrink-wrapped bulletin mailed out to subscribers. Those four pages were crammed with information for men about our most prized possessions: The cock and balls. How they worked, how they were supposed to work, what could (and did) go wrong. How to get more enjoyment out of sex and masturbation.

I learned more from those Bulletins than anything they've done since. That the cock is so much more than the sum of its parts.

Taking a trip back in time and pulling from my memory banks....
It begins with prolonged arousal, actually more than the edging I suggested in my response comment. Prolonged arousal means utilizing those frequent boners we get all day long. Tease them and coax them to hang around longer.

Kegels. Do those Kegels when you get hard.
You can do them and no one even has to know.
It strengthens the pelvic floor muscles which can add power to an ejaculation.
The Prostate can play a powerful role, too. Clenching your butt can add stimulation and help to build up the volume of fluid.
The most intense ejaculations, the most pleasurable ones, are those where volume (buckets of cum) and velocity (forceful shooting) are combined.

One of those early magazine issues hooked up with Cosmopolitan magazine for a survey. Women wanted to know more about what a guy likes during a blow job or hand job. Guys' overwhelming answer: Play with my balls. Fondle them. Lick them. Suck them. So, play with your balls.

The nipples, the inside of the thighs, are also a sensitive areas for men and can add to the pleasure and the building of the erotic pressure.

When you do get around to that jack-off session, take your time. Tease, play, stroke the boner. Flick the head, tease the Frenulum. Don't let all the luscious pre-cum go to waste.
Slap that boner on your belly or to the palm of your hand. Edge. Get right up to "the point of no return." And stop. Cool down a bit. then start again.

Vary the strokes.

You could even do as Blogger Buddy at how2bate does. Stroke but don't cum.
Build your ejaculation over days. When you do decide to let go, put those pelvic muscles and the prostate to use. Thrust your hips and squeeze the butt with the spasms.

That should have the jizz flying.
And leave you drenched and satisfied.
Happy weekend!

Semen Retention

"Thank you for your blog.

Another blog site (thebatorblog.com) seems to be a fan of semen retention. I've done some brief research but the benefits seem sketchy: I wondered if you might know more.

I'm a 44 Yr old man and I masturbate twice daily in addition to partner sex. Throughout May each year, and usually prompted by your blog, I try to try something different. Any insight would be welcomed. Thank you."

I'm familiar with The Bator Blog, and their Bate Master. I don't think it promotes semen retention so much as it promotes edging; just spending more time enjoying the activity before ejaculation. As I like to say, "While ejaculation may be the ultimate goal, slow down and enjoy the getting there."

Those who promote semen retention report that the sexual energy of masturbation sticks with them if they don't cum.

When it comes to semen retention, I have a tendency to follow the urologists. Their data shows that a minimum of two ejaculations per week reduces the risk of prostate cancer. They go further and suggest that 21 times per month is the optimum number.

Masturbation Month began as a means to honor Joycelyn Elders (Bill Clinton's Surgeon General) who was fired after she was overheard during a private conversation on a university campus suggesting that, "perhaps, masturbation should be taught."

I interpret that as the activity should be brought out of the closet. It's a normal, healthy thing.

Twice per day in addition to partner sex is fine - even if you don't cum each and every time. One of the nice things for us is the ability to engage in sex as often as we like. That includes masturbation.

As this blog suggests, masturbation is normal, it's healthy, it's enjoyable.

So, enjoy yourself.
