Should I Worry?

Good Morning.

"You been focusing on morning wood so I got a question. I graduated college and moved back in with my folks. I started sleeping nude in the dorm at college because I like to feel free. But if my dad doesn't hear me answer him or hear me moving around he sometimes comes in my room to wake me up. Should I worry that he sees my hard-on?"

I don't think you need to worry about that. I'm sure your father knows all about morning wood and he's not going to be fazed at all. If he didn't approve of you sleeping naked, I'm sure he'd address the issue.

You never know...maybe he sleeps in the nude himself.

And to further calm your fears, I can guarantee that his cock is hard most mornings, too.

Relax, and get your unencumbered sleep.

But, if you're really that worried about his reaction to seeing your morning boner, you could always ask if it's going to bother him.

Have a good weekend!

@ Six - I don't think his dad has made a peep - this guy is projecting problems where there probably are none. xoxo

As a dad speaking, always slept nude, starting from when I was still sleeping at home during college! Mom woke me once to help my dad, who had fallen outside! Surprise! (But I know my dad slep with only a wife-beater on...)

Pat you hit the nail on the head, what is it with this generation and their “modesty”? My other thought, doesn’t the father ever talk to his son about stuff like this? Happy Friday. Hugs and bisous.

Rad must have known my dad! Ditto, with the boxers!
I was going to say he ought to be glad his -dad- is waking him up!

Some of these questions seem to be common sense. Should he worry that his father sees his hard-on?" No. Unless he plans on sucking it. It's all part of the nature workings on the male body...it happens to us all.

BigDude here. My mother quit waking me up for school when she saw the bulge in the sheets. Dad took over, and since he slept in the raw, too, he was unfazed. He caught me jacking and was unfazed. After mom passed, We both saw each other's morning hard on, and I could jerk off in front of him. He did it a couple times in front of me, too. But the point is, dad's are usually more cool about this stuff than they get credit for.

@ GF - I didn't know. Thanks for telling me. What a shame...it was a pretty classy blog. I hope they manage to reincarnate it in some form.

@ Jean - I wish I knew. Got email from another one asking why boomers and gen x wander around the locker room naked. Sheesh.... Damn few dads talk to their sons about these things. The information all gets to them via internet. Sad, ain't it? Hugs and bisous.

Dads were teenage boys once too!

@ whkattk - Damn few Dads talking to their sons about these things is a self-fulfilling prophecy if the sons only get information from other sources, as they in turn become Dads who expect their sons will also get their information from other sources and won't bother either.

I confronted my own Dad about not telling me things I should know, when I got older, and he said that his Father never told him anything and so he found out from peers and experimentation and expected I would do the same.

I think Dads have to take the initiative here as part of parenting and talk to their sons about these things from an early age, so the sons are better prepared and don't have to re-invent the wheel with trial, error and resulting anxiety, in order to break the pattern. It might also help in developing a "boys together" bond between Dad and son and reduce the usual teen angst "I'm pissed at my Dad" that guys go through.

My pediatrician said sleeping naked is good for men. So free-balling – as the movement of sleeping without underwear is known – lowers the temperature of the testicular region and helps maintain a greater number of sperm.

Eek. Never having that conversation.

@ Anon - Your pediatrician is right.

My first and only question. Youve graduated college. Then why are either of you parents waking you up. Your an adult. Get an alarm clock.

@ rphillips4165 - I think many parents have a lot of difficulty letting go of their children and recognising them as adults and also young adults letting go of their childhood privileges and lack of responsibility.
