A Valuable Lesson

Morning

All the different protests going on all over the country make me wonder if it might be time for a 50-million-person march on Washington. Say July 4th....

"I learned a very valuable lesson about eyes and cum. It not only burns, but it's a bit embarrassing to have the eye doctor ask if you "somehow got semen in your eyes?" How do you respond? "Well, doc, what can I say, I'm a shooter"?"

LOL. I guess that's one way. Unless it was a group thing and you're into bukake. But, yep, cum can cause an eye infection; typically conjunctivitis. More commonly known as Pink Eye.  It's a good thing you got treated - some eye infections can lead to blindness. And, it's a good thing you were honest -  according to Healthline, it can also carry STI bacteria like "chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis."

Next time? Whether it's your own or someone else's...

...flush your eye(s) with plenty of cool water.

If the redness and irritation persist, go see your eye doctor.

Nothing Is Foolproof

Masturbation has been around for ever. So has mutual masturbation. The idea of mutual got a great promotional boost during the 80s HIV/AIDS crisis. And again when COVID hit. It's considered the safest sex one can engage in.

BUT

There's always a "but."

Gabrielle Kassel, New York based sex and fitness writer, who often pens the articles in Healthline that I read, in this latest report, spells out a few caveats when it comes to jacking off - even without a buddy or partner along for the fun.

First she explains the difference between a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD): "STIs are sexually transmitted infections. STDs are sexually transmitted diseases. An STI is only considered a disease when it causes symptoms."

Well, that explains why STD suddenly became STI in many, many articles.

Everyone knows how these things get shared from person to person. Even during mutual masturbation when things get hot and heavy, precum is flowing or cum is flying. As Lisa Finn, sex educator at Babeland, tells our intrepid reporter, If you’re in close enough proximity that body fluid can be exchanged, if someone has an STI, an STI can be transmitted.

But did you know you could transmit an infection to yourself? Who knew?

Finn explains "if you use spit as lube" (pretty popular among guys too embarrassed to have a bottle of lube in the house), and then anally finger yourself (getting more and more popular with men as they've discovered the value of the prostate) you can transmit an infection from one area to another.

Bottom line: Jacking off, alone or with a partner or a group is the safest sex there is.

But, as usual, nothing is foolproof.

The Safest Sex

A three-page spread in our newspaper yesterday about the resurgence in the spread of Syphilis. This is an especially insidious disease.

"Syphilis is a highly contagious disease spread primarily by sexual activity, including oral and anal sex. It develops in stages, and symptoms vary with each stage.
The first stage involves a painless sore on the genitals, rectum, or mouth. After the initial sore heals, the second stage is characterized by a rash. Then, there are no symptoms until the final stage which may occur years later. This final stage can result in damage to the brain, nerves, eyes, or heart." [text bolding is mine]

Knowledge of this, and other STIs, has never been a deterrent; people are people and complete abstinence is rare. And, it would appear the Free Love generation is at it again - rates of this (and other STIs) are rampant among those 55+. Sites out there have been designed especially for them, including chat rooms like Granny Chat and Granny Cam for a safer alternative.
Because - whether you use porn or your own imagination to fantasize - masturbation is still the safest sex there is. Alone,

or with others.

That said, have a really wonderful weekend, and welcome to September.
