Readership

Morning.

The proof, as the adage states, is in the pudding.

Readership here is way down. We'll see how long it takes people to figure out how to get around Blogger's messing with them.

Winter is coming.

In the meantime, have a good weekend.

Ugh. Here we are going from a high of 38 this morning to 5 below tonight... and it stays there through the weekend until Wednesday. I dislike winter intensely. As for readership? Mine is up... and I have no idea why... it won't last.

Just an fyi - I have not had any issues accessing your blog - I use Windows 11, and tried using Edge, Firefox and Chrome

My readership is way down too... I chalked it up to being January... Oddly today bypassed all of it logging on to other sites such as yours with out the first consent checkpoint... I just clicked on... let's see how long that lasts. Have a good weekend.

A cold winters night is a good time for skin to skin contact under the covers. Am surprised the snow did not cause their cocks to shrivel up to keep warm. Naked men look great in any season.

Blogger must be bested by all content creators, don’t give in to censorship by Blogger, stay viable and ignore their obstructions. :)

I don't know why some have issues to enter any Blogger's sites? I can access any of them easily.
Have a nice weekend.
Here in Montreal, not much snow (white shit) on the ground and tomorrow will be just above 0°C.
BUT next week freezing very cold weather for Tuesday and after around -15°C... Nothing unusual up here for us.

Same at Workmen&Rednecks, daily visits have drop by almost 25%. Some would ask "Why do you care, since you do not monetize your blog?"
Well I care for the all the people who are denied by Google the right to visit the blogs of their choosing. Just because Blogger's staff isn't skilled enough to setup one stupid dialog box accordingly to basic standards.
Yesterday I was thinking of opening a new blog on another platform. On second thought, I will stick to the smart comment Uptonking sent me: "Everything is temporary on here. Any bug seems to go away..."

I'd have no problem hibernating in that cabin all winter. As long as I have gin and a man.

Looks like sometime yesterday the secondary signin crap got pulled and is gone. Plus. You didn’t actually have to sign in again.

I suspect the changes in Blogger are reflective of state laws in some USA states that now require identification to prevent minors from accessing adult sites and those with "sensitive content". I'm looking at you, Florida and Texas and more!

That said, I subscribe to a feed of this site through the Feedly app and have no issues seeing the daily content including the always glorious pics!

Thanks for the blog! Other than the age thing, I don't see anything different for me to logon. It's definitely not something that will keep me from logging in. I think that age verification is something we are going to see more of in the future and I'm not 100% sure that's a bad thing for some. It all depends on how you go about it. A teenager is going to find ways around all of this. If I had a teenager, I'd help him get logged in myself lol.

I'm sorry that people are having a difficult time accessing Blogger sites. I'm having no issues and I have no idea what I'm doing differently than others.

My readership usually creeps back up after a while - once Blogger stops fucking with shit.

whkattk said...

If you have an account, it probably won't affect you.

whkattk said...

LOL. Thank you!

whkattk said...

We'll have to check it out. Thanks.

whkattk said...

Ah, see.... Well, as Upton said, it won't last. That's a good thing. Maybe lots of people complained.

whkattk said...

I thought the same thing! "Shrinkage!"

whkattk said...

I'm gonna do my best, Rj!

whkattk said...

-15C??? Eek! I hope you can stay home and remain warm!

whkattk said...

You must be right, Laurent. It seems some are already reporting not having to click a second button for access.
And, yes, it matters that readership is down even without monetizing. It's the folks who want to read and are stopped for no reason other than the tech bros screwing things to stop the access.

whkattk said...

Which I know you'd have in fair quantity.

whkattk said...

Thanks for letting me know. Laurent was right --- it didn't last.

whkattk said...

Yep. TX, FL, AL, LA, MS....
Oh, I forgot about suggesting signing up with a daily feed app!

whkattk said...

Yeah, age verification doesn't bug me either...but when they bury a second button that's hard to find.... But agree there's going to be more of this kind of shit starting Monday afternoon.
And if I had offspring, I'd be doing that same thing.

whkattk said...

Glad you haven't been affected. It could be as Adam said (above), it's probably being wielded only in certain states.

Jean said...

Since I figured out how to sign on, I haven’t had any troubles. I am using Safari and I’m wondering if that might be one of the issues they are using Safari too, and not knowing what to do when they are confronted with what looks like a blank screen. Have a great weekend. Hugs and bisous.

Accessing sites through blogger was a little frustrating at first until I found scrolling down about half way brought up the link.

By the way, I think the guy in your first photo today is one of the hottest I have ever seen. It's posted and re-posted all over the internet and I always thrill each time I see him!

CAAZ said...

Hopefully this all gets sorted soon. Thanks for the eye candy to keep us occupied in the mean time.

I'm not sure the states are the issue. I live in one of those states and can no longer access websites like PornHub and xHamster, but I have had no problems with Blogger sites. When I need or want to visit one of those other sites, I just use a VPN to get around the problem!

Blogger itself is monetised with the requirement to login via Google or whatever, who actually get paid by selling the customer data.

Anonymous said...

Age verification is a trojan horse to force people to login and thus give companies data they can sell to others, but it also has advantages in preventing casual "minor" access: anyone sufficiently motivated will find a way around it, but most aren't that motivated.

Anonymous said...

It used to be possible to see Blogger posts without logging into Blogger, but then they forced a login in order to see certain posts, presumably ones with content they consider inappropriate for minors, to implement a kind of age verification access system. The problem is that it also prevents adults from accessing that material if they don't wish to login. Logging in simply allows companies to monetise the customer by selling customer data.

I have no idea what content actually triggers the age verification as I can't see the material without logging in. My guess is it's showing sexual activity, which is considered adult porn and not appropriate for children, but I guess that interpretation is up to whoever designed the filter.

Interestingly, it is still possible to see and respond to the comments associated with a post, even if the post itself is blocked by the login requirement.

BTW, it's not just a USA thing as I'm international.

Gee, I don't even know how to check my readership.

UtahJock said...

I have not had any problems getting into any of these blogs. Please keep up the good work.

I use Chrome to browse and have had no issues logging in/viewing any blogger accounts. And winter is here in Clemson, SC, my titties are hard all the time! LOL!!!

Workmen and Rednecks said...

I agree, more or less :-)
You're right, this supplemental agreement is not based upon location. It applies also when connecting from France.
Also, it requires visitors to log onto their Google account. but what if they do not have one > they make them create one, therefore becoming a data provider and target for Google.
But wrong : anyone - of age or not - can create a google account without any age verification.
This is all about Google's greed disguised into pseudo rightful thinking. To them it's just a win-win: they get to appear as a responsible ass-licking company to right wing bigots, whilst gathering new subscribers they wouldn't have reaches otherwise.
It's just like you said: monetizing remains Google's prime goal.

Workmen and Rednecks said...

LoL Rick!
Is it the fairy mouse answering the comments on your blog while you're asleep?
;-p

whkattk said...

They've turned the entire process into a crapshoot for some folks. XOXO

whkattk said...

Anonymous (above) is correct. This is nothing more than a way to force people to sign up for accounts to mine data.

Glad you like him. Avoiding repeats is impossible.

whkattk said...

Thanks. I shall try.

whkattk said...

You're welcome!

whkattk said...

Aha! There's something I need to investigate.

Hard nipples and major shrinkage. LOL.
