Well, now.... Fun was had by all watching all the nominated films. I'm usually pretty good at predicting the winners. This year? Not so much. 🙄 I'm not an Amy Schumer fan, but she, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes did a bang-up job. Then Will Smith brought things to a grinding halt and killed the mood by going up onto the stage and assaulting Chris Rock during an international live telecast. Because of the lag built into the U.S. broadcast system for live television, one had to be able to read lips to know what the exchange entailed after rock's G.I. Jane quip poked fun at Jada Pinkett-Smith. But uncensored clips are out on the net. Needless to say, the internet lit up. It will be an Oscar ceremony that won't be forgotten - and one that the right-wing media will use to trash the "Libs and Hollywood Elite" for at least the next couple days.

I of course didn't watch but maybe more than 20 minutes in total. But as always Chris Rock is tasteless and takes it too far. While Smith should not have gotten that reactive, Rocks crack about Jada was extremely insensitive. Beside that Jada could probably snap his scrawny neck with one snap. And as always, the Oscars loves to give a painful, uncalled moment by having Gaga wheel out Liza. That was painful. They did similar with Jimmy Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor and Kurt Doulgas. I hate when they do this. It isn't a circus.
Truth be told...Wanda could have carried the whole hosting gig.
Did you see in live Will Smith violently slapping Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards?
Is he Will or Wild?
That said, Chris well deserved it.

And I enjoyed Amy, Regina and Wanda (Love me some Wanda!) and I think they did a great job. Oh and The Slap. Yep, that happened. Chris Rock was a dick. Will could have gone and poke a finger to his forehead and left. But no. So here we are.
The Oscars were NOT boring, nope.

Monday's Funnies always a treat. Folks at the Oscars thought it was a stunt, until they caught on that Will Smith was furious. (He is now most apologetic.) My award for best dressed goes to the nominated Best Picture DUNE lead, Timothee Chalamet in Louis Vuitton. Chalmette is an excellent actor.

This was the first year I didn't watch in a long time. However, the clip I saw that was the one everyone should have been talking about today was Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli announcing the award for Best Picture.
@ Maddie - Wanda is great. Yep, she could've done the job herself.
@ MFP - Chris' joke may have been tasteless but the slap was not the way to handle it.

@ Six - "The slap heard round the world." Not a good look on him. He damaged his reputation and his career. Will could've called him out and gotten him to commit to making a donation to the cause.

@ Jean - Will has issued an apology but I fear it will take him a while to recover from this. He's permanently overshadowed the win. Chalamet is indeed a great actor. He proved that with his debut film. And he rocked the look! Hugs and bisous.
@ Victorian - It was a great way to show how we should be holding others up instead of slapping them down. The SO for the supporting actor and Best Picture win were terrific moments, as well.
