Quite As Stiff

How important is a functioning cock to a guy?

I mean beyond being able to take a leak; not being able to do that can kill you.

While not being able to get a boner won't kill you, it is a health issue physically...especially over the long term by increasing the risk of prostate cancer.

It can also signal underlying conditions. But it's a mental issue as well.

Men can become seriously depressed at the lack of erections. As a friend of mine recently stated during a conversation about how young guys get hard at the drop of a hat, "God, I miss that."

You know, the spontaneous ones,

The ones we tried so desperately to hide when we were in the throes of puberty. Once we've passed puberty the boners stop popping up every couple of hours, and we don't pay much mind until....

Until we notice the ones we do get, just don't get quite as stiff as they used to.

Both the mental health and medical communities are well aware of the importance men place on their cocks. If you're dealing with an uncooperative cock, don't be afraid or too embarrassed to seek out medical attention or mental health assistance.

Great post. At this point, I just need a bit of stimulation - circumstances, environment, a visual, a conversation... in order to get it up. Yes, those days of 24/7 hard-ons are far behind me, but as long as it works when I want it to? I'm a happy camper. Sometimes... if it has been awhile since I had a chance to play, I will just make it happen - like brushing my teeth - same type of maintenance. And once up? Why not cum? Good for your prostate. Great post.

I think it's quite natural if a man's erections are not the same at 60 as they were at 16.
Duh. Age.
Also, some men need more stimulation (physical or visual?) to get hard enough for intercourse. A man can have a soft-on and still be able to have sex or masturbate, right?
No biggie. Literally.

XOXO

When I had the prostate cancer, the most important things from the medical community were (in order)- get rid of the cancer (you're alive), make sure you're not incontinent (you won't pee yourself), and last, make sure the boner works. I wasn't interested in making sure my boner worked at the time as the first two seemed more important (they are), but now I'm damn glad my boner works. I just wish I could "finish" as fast as I could 30 years ago.

I agree with your conclusion.

Great advice Pat.
Health professionals are in that line of work because they want to help with any physica/mental issues.
And they have heard them all and then some. Give them a chance.
Hugs and bisous.

UtahJock-- not being able to finish fast means you can take your time and enjoy the motion of the boat on the ocean! (:
.
As far as how important is a functioning cock to a guy... just count the number of Viagra and Cialis ads on TV-- the drug companies think it's important!
.
That's an impressive member leading of the pictures today. I think I like the pictures of the cocks with pulled-back 'skins more! The second one after the pants boner especially-- looks all juicy and ready for a tasty lick!

I am glad I sought help. It took trying several different things until we found something that worked for me. It is a pump with a rubber type cock ring that slips down over the shaft after it is erect. I did feel so much better after there was a solution for the problem. Did a lot of cuddling until we came up with an answer. It is wonderful to have an understanding partner.

During my successful treatment for prostate cancer last year I was given Lupron shots for 8 months, eliminating my testosterone and hardons. It was actually a peaceful time and after a couple of weeks I stopped missing my cock (and stopped taking daily Cialis).. When the shots wore off I was happy to welcome it back! Testosterone "naturally" declines with age and it's good to keep track of it, but there are other means to stay horny and hard - just keep reading BWA!

Here's my list of adaptations to advancing age, in no particular order:

1. Daily Cialis
2. Daily DHEA
3. Bating every morning in lounger to get day started
4. Cock rings, especially when doing walking outdoor masturbation
5. Bating sitting or standing to raise blood pressure
6. Reading 8 blogs most every day - one's that my cock likes
7, Good lube - I use olive oil
8. Multiple dry orgasmic technique learned on web
9. Video porn collection
10. Bate rituals - dozens of different ones
11., Candles and New Age music
12. Bating watching myself in mirror
13. Always bating in shower
14. Masturbation path through woods behind my house
15. Bate workshops and instructional vids
16. "Chatting" with friends on Bateworld
17. Privacy!
18. Showing off my big boner at GNI and gay swimming hole
19. Hot husband
20. Cock bondage
21, Writing my masturbation journal/blog
22. Trading erotic massage
23. Counting strokes or dry orgasms or steps to focus attention
24. Jacking cock while doing yoga
25. Jacking off after World Naked Bike Ride

One more thing, perhaps the most important - refractory period after ejaculation. As I aged it went from minutes, to hours, to several days now at age 79. Part of the orgasmic process is the release of turn-off-boner hormones but this is ridiculous! A few years ago I tried testing this by jacking off every day for a week. After 4 days I forgot I had ever had a cock! So I learned the multiple dry orgasm technique from a vid on the Erotic Engineering site. Ejaculate once in 3 or 4 weeks, with 1000-1500 dry orgasms in between. They're usually very small, but the cumulative effect really charges my body with erotic energy - several times a day! Gradually the need to come becomes overwhelming and I'll shoot and enjoy it and accept that the next few days will be a peaceful and productive vacation from cock. Learn how your body works. I first learned about semen retention from my Body Electric Tantra teacher 25 years ago!

As a man dealing with ED, I can say my doctor has been great in hearing my woes, and has recommended a doc who specializes in this problem. These men are empathetic, concerned, and helpful. By all means, men, if your dick isn't performing, seek medical help.

@ Six - It IS possible to cum with a soft cock. Not very satisfying but it can be done. XOXO

whkattk said...

@ Jean - They've heard it all, that's for sure. I don't think it would be possible to shock any of them. Hugs and bisous.

@ Big Dude - Now THAT'S the way it should work with a doctor.

Taking this comment "@ Six - It IS possible to cum with a soft cock. Not very satisfying but it can be done" further, after your prostate is gone, you longer have a load to shoot, so if you're referring to "cum" as the semen, then no you can't do that period. If you're referring to "cum" as the organism, then yes, you can with a totally soft cock. As whkattk said, it's not as satisfying. And it's weird!

I turn 39 next month and still get those boners. It's a mix of genetics and just how well you take care of yourself.

I admint for me the erections are hte most important thing. For a guy in a wheelchair the best thing you can have (apart of movility) it´s a good stiff in the moornings and jerkoff when you have one. Other thing of course its the cumming, the retrogade eyaculation it´s a bitch.

By the way, I read sometime ago in this blog (thanks god for that) the Vitamin D is related to the testosterone. From one year ago i´m taking only 1000uC of vitamin D per day.... and my erections are strong and god (I don´t know if i can send to all of you pictures :p) I enjoy more my jerkoff sessions with my super stiff.

whkattk said...

@ Demian The retrograde ejaculations don't quite satisfy? I am sorry to hear that. Vitamin D does help increase T levels -and I'm glad you get good strong boners. Of course, you can send photos if that is your wish: whkattk@gmail.com
and I'll post them for you.

@whkattk I feel the climax, but it's not the same if I don't see my dick cumming. I send the pics btw ;)
